Rasta

Alright, production is a whole new world to me. But without laughing your ass off, can someone tell me how to "use" this VSTi and explain them to me? I need to have a sequencer? Such as Cubase n' all? How about Reason or any of the other ones?

Now aren't you cute? How about giving a hand to someone that doesn't know about production unless you want to see where all that hate gets you. I don't know why people like you bother replying.

Posted by Unknown DJ on Feb-23-2004 16:28:

i havent got a clue how to use them either

Posted by Sean Walsh on Feb-23-2004 16:38:

You'll need something like CuBase, Logic, Fruity or Buzz use the VST. Use the search function for those products and you'll surely find something.

Posted by hey cheggy on Feb-23-2004 16:39:

Mate, you need a VST host to run this program.

Cubase
Logic
Sonar
Project5
Fruity Loops
etc

(not reason)

Just bought this synth last night, and it kicks ass. I'm getting all sorts of great sounds out of this. Thanks for starting this thread!!

Posted by Sypherion on Feb-23-2004 19:47:

got it too...oh man, definitly the best trance synth ever. EXACTLY what i've been looking for.

the reason I refused to help is becuase it's been discused umpteen-thousand times (in this thread already, I'm sure).. use the search and check the threads at the top of the production studio forum.. if you still can't find the answer to your question, then ask and me/other TAs will gladly help..

what don't u like about them? I use external FX along with the vanguard filters but they sound good to me by themselves as well..

Posted by Sean Walsh on Feb-26-2004 19:18:

RB is probably comparing them to his Virus' filters or something =P I almost always use external filters anyways so doesn't matter to me.

just curious.. what do you guys consider "filters? cutoff and res? or delay, reverb, compression, distortion, etc etc

Posted by /I\ on Feb-27-2004 13:44:

was wondering that too

also wondering how to get a really phat supersaw with this vsti demo .. tried dialing up 3 puls saws detuned and it sounded quite pants IMHO

Posted by alanzo on Feb-27-2004 16:00:

quite pants huh?

must be some strange scottish term

well a few of the presets are pretty fat, but if you want to make your own try combining a saw and a square each with different volumes..

Posted by dj-rob on Feb-27-2004 16:06:

in my opinion vanguard isnt good for fat supersaw sounds, it just doesnt work.. too plasticky (rubbery, tubular etc hehe).. i mean i can make better saws with pro-53 than with vanguard, however the basses and pads are quite nice.
