um..listen to his mix or ask DJ eso what matt's abilities are like. ferry hasn't been spinning for all that long. there are more than a few TOTA DJs than can mix better than he can. Just b/c he makes a living as a DJ doesn't mean he has fantastic mixing talent, it's b/c of his productions that he is famous. so you really think that all the big name DJ's are teh bets at mixing? if so, you don't know how things work. There are DJ's who rarely fuck up their mixes (PVD, Howells, Digweed)- do you think that ferry is in their league for mixing abilities? if you do, then you need to learn a littel more about the technical aspect of the music you claim to love.

k, thx, bye.

RESPECT!

he didn't prove your point, you missed his. he's not bashing JT's character, he's saying that mainstream popularity doesn't equate to talent. He's not discussing whether JT is a good or bad person, or whether he does charitible work-- that is completely irrelevant. (and btw, most celebs do some sort of charitable work for PR purposes, I'm not saying that JT is a good or bad person or talented or not, just that charitable work doesn't necessariliy mean much about character especially when you are talking about celebs).

lmao, so fucking true.

I'll be falling asleep to the boring sounds of John Digweed that night

Can't fuckin wait...first time seeing the Master

And Chris; don't say you don't like Digweed, cause if you like Howells, Sasha and so on, then you should like Digweed. His KissFM shows aren't an example of his style because on the show he only spins his favourite new releases.

Listen to an actual set; like an Essential Mix.

what the hell are you talking about? Have you ever heard Matt spin? He is one of the best mixers I've seen, I suggest you show some respect, from the last ets show people who are into trance and only into trance actually said really nice things about Matt's proggy style set, they were impressed.

As for that night, I'm in for DIGGERS haven't had a chance to see him live, and I finally will!!! I've seen Ferry, he's good, but no comparison to diggers if you're open-minded and like both genre's.

and one more thing, since when people are not allowed not to like a dj? the funniest thing is you tell people not to bash ferry, but then you insult a local talent ..... sad

Digweed at Boa someday?

I personally would LOVE to see Digweed at Boa one day. Boa's sound system is so detailed it would be perfect for Digweed's nuances. )

Yet there was no coherent response describing how Timberlake was not talented. His argument was also irrelevant.

I was there for the last one, and was blown away by the talent and track selection of the guys/girls spinning ( unfortunately, the dope that i am, i didn't take the chance to tell this to them in person ).

The VIP room was cheese free and bustling with the kind of talent that makes me wonder just how long it will be till we see one of our own opening up for the big timers.

Keep it up peeps. You do Toronto and our little community at TA proud !

BIG UP YOURSELF FOR THE POSITIVE ATTITUDE IN THIS THREAD!

Keep your fingers cross and give it some time ... I'll get our DJz up there.

The Prog vs. Trance debate. Cant really understand it. It seems that for every trance party that comes around, theres prog fans bashing trance and how cheesy it is. Seeing as this website is called "Tranceaddict" you'd figure trance must have been a draw to you at one point in your life, so why now are you bashing it? Also, i know many of you who started to listen to electronic music in general started out with classic trance and generally evolved into other EDM genres. And then you have the trance heads. The ones who limit themselves to "superstar" trance dj's and are convinced Tiesto is god. They also continue to bash away at progressive music claiming it is boring, slow....when really its just due to either a lack of intelligence or being too stubborn to broaden their musical tastes. Ive got a great idea. Lets try and keep from coming into threads just for the sake of disrupting a topic with pointless comments. This is a great party coming up, take your pick, go to both, but for christ's sake PLEASE STOP BITCHING ABOUT STUPID SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT.

*end of rant*

he doesn't need to detail his lack of talent in his argument. He is defending the point that there is no equation that says that the amount of money one makes is equvalent to the talent they posses. Someone could forseeable have talent, but be overpaid (in comparison to the talent of other musicians). So unless you are saying that ALL musicians that make less then JT have less talent then him, then you would agree w/ his initial point that a ratio between actual talent and $ being made does not exist.

Go see Ferry, Its gonna a better party.
Diggers is an aquired taste. It takes time to appreciate his style which IMO is not meant for a club atmosphere.

"Fuck Digweed" anyone ??

IMHO Digweed is boring. I've given a chance to numerous of his livesets but never enjoyed it.

As far as Ferry "not evolving", where have you been the last 6 months? He's spinning more and more electro sound in his livesets.

Having said that, I think the party at Kool Haus will be better. Why? More room to dance! Guv on the other hand, will be crammed as always with half the crowd not realizing that Ferry Corsten is spinning.

Right now though,I doubt I will be attending either party. I definitely won't enjoy the night at Guv(cause there will be hardly any air to breathe), and I'll definitely fall asleep during Digweed's show.

I think this is fair. ferry's set will be more fun and light-hearted and digweed's will be more artistic and eloquent. I def. think ferry's sound is more accessable. It's kind of like films- ferry is more like an action film, and digweed is more like an art film. More ppl will like the action film and it's good in it's own right, but for hose who enjoy art films, they are in for a more artistic, emotional journey. IMO those who don't like Digweed, don't get him. Not b/c they are stupid and can't understand him, but b/c they initially hear his sound and it'd not for them, so they never get into it.
