i do think it was the virus. the question was 'why such a specific target' or something along those lines,
and so it was a warning in that sense, in that the damage will be contained in the building but it will happen.

I'm pretty sure there taking such a long break from 24 because Kiefer got into a "bar brawl" a few weeks ago and required stiches on his face. I can't find a link to the article, so I'll just type it out for anyone that's intrested because I'm looking at the paper right now

"Kiefer Sutherland required multiple stiches on his face after being injured in a bar brawl, according to ET Online. The "24" actor was back at work Wednesday after the incident, which occurred earlier this week. Production of the Fox series was reshuffled to accommodate his in-stitches situation. ET reports Kiefer apologized to the cast and crew of the show, say he "felt terrible" disrupting the shooting schedule."

This was in the "Boston Herald" On Friday, February 13th 2004.
