Who cares, these guys will not be able to even come close in matching the Twisted event with AVB and A&B. So whatever, don't get your hopes up. It will probably be some party featuring local djs or at best some djs from the US and not Europe. They are just trying to get us hyped for nothing.

learn before you speak

Edmonton doesnt have a venue for massive kiddie raves like Vancouver does. Well, Reds, but that barely counts. But when it did, United Threw one off raves similar to those
United throws massive and intimate parties. Tiesto for liek 300 people, Armin, Sasha you name it, theyve done it.
United is who CraveTheRave is often posting about.
I say this not as a moderator, but as a partier, shut up because you dont know shit.
I mean, if you really want, Twisted Parties dont come close to comparing to Bal en Blanc, or Guv parties, but its stupid to compare between cities because the situations and markets are different.

And what exactly should I learn from your reply?
That everyone should do what you tell them, and everyone should never post their opinion about anything? I'm just posting my observations, and if you think that I have something to learn from you, then maybe you should be more specific about what I need to learn from you... Logic is a good tool, perhaps you need to start with that...

Maybe Edmonton doesn't have a venue for massive kiddie raves like Van... But it has nothing to do with what Im saying. Here is what Im saying. These guys are trying to hype up a party that has not even been organized yet. We dont even know who is playing. For all I know its some dude named Freddy that will spin disco

I've been to Guv parties and Bal en Blanc parties. As for the Twisted venue, it looks comparable to that of the Guv and Bal en Blanc. Twisted is also bringing 2 very respected and talented DJs. Is it dumb to compare parties? Absolutely not! Otherwise, how will you distinguish an amazing party from a good one? Maybe you can answer this...

I do....I need to know whether to use my yearly Edmonton road trip for Jules or to wait for this.

What I was refering was the argument about who is better Twisted or United.

NOT about this thread.

There is a lot of anger or something negative within this post. I mean these guys are solid promoters who have brought tons and tons of good acts. To name a few: Armin X 2, Tiesto X 3, Corsten, BT, Sasha, Bad Boy Bill X 2, Paul Oakenfold, Judge Jules, Lisa Lashes and many more. It's not like these guys have never pulled in big names. I don't see where all the disdain is coming from. Who cares? Edmonton cares. Some Calgarians care. Maybe even Sask folk care if it's a really big name. Have these guys rubbed you the wrong way? I don't think they have as they haven't to anybody.

Look at the Twisted event Vs. our Corsten event... Armin/A&B Vs. Ferry/Lisa Lashes/Kid Vicious. Yes, ours is a club night, but that's what we are allowed to throw now. But, a party is still a party and I guarantee you the place will be packed full of party ppl with their dancing shoes on and smiles on their faces. If you don't think it will live up to the Twisted party, well that's totally your opinion. I just don't see where this post came from. It was a post to get Albertans excited because these guys always deliver quality... but you outright assume it will suck and the hype is not warranted, but it really is. I don't think it is fair comparing parties of different places. By your logic, the Armin/A&B party will suck compared to Godskitchen Global Gathering and Creamfields, plain and simple.

Regardless, you are in Vancouver so it really doesn't concern you. I know a lot of ppl here are waiting for an announcement and I highly doubt that we'll be disappointed.

Hope to see many of you at Corsten and Julesy in the next 2 weeks.

Cheers,
Terry

Personally I would phrase it this way. "There is a lot of logic, observation, and personal opinion in my post." Everyone is entitled to their opinion right? If I was angry I would be cussing, and I have not done so, hence Im not angry. Maybe there is some negativity, but negativity is based on opinion, right?

I don't doubt their ability to promote good parties. I will personally enjoy Corsten and Kid Vicious here in Van. I already bought my ticket, and I hope to see more people coming to the Corsten party and supporting electronic music, in Van, Edmonton, and Calgary.

I totally agree with you. I will pay $15 any day to see Ferry and Kid Vicious. However, I dont want to compare this to the Twisted event. Both are great IMHO.

It was early in the morning and I had nothing better to do at work so I decided to post what I thought about this hype. Maybe it was not warranted. In any case when comparing Creamfields to the Twisted party, the twisted event will be good but not as amazing as Creamfields. "Without the bitter the sweet isn't as sweet" Clearly, by my logic the A&B and AVB party will NOT suck! It will be an awesome event and I'm looking forward to seeing AVB and A&B here in Van. But yeah, if I had enough cash to fly down to the UK for a big event that conflicted with the Twisted party, I would not think twice about missing the Twisted event and heading down to the UK.

We are sharing the same boards, and there is always the possibility that I may drive down for events in Edmonton or Calgary. I don't see how you can say what concerns me and what doesn't...

Let's leave it at this... have a great time at AVB and A&B and your Corsten/Vicious party. We'll have a great time here at Ferry Corsten and Kid Vicious here. This conversation is getting a bit too defensive for a bloody message board designed for tranceaddicts to talk about trance.

Cheers,
Terry

Damn it just tell us already!!!!!!

We're promoters. This is what we do. Hype sells tickets. Our reputation speaks for itself (www.unitedproductions.ca). If it's a big name that we're excited about, we'll make sure to hype it up. I don't think there's been a time that we've hyped up an event and not lived up to it.

There's multiple pages of replies to this post... I think we've done our job. As for the annoucement, we'll release the info soon enough. See you all at Corsten / Lashes / Vicious... and Jules which has presold over 700 tickets at this point.

So what happened, did this fall apart???

Posted by j_spot on Apr-07-2004 16:27:

the rumour floating around is Seb Fontaine, Tiesto and PvD
but PvD was supposed to be here in May, probably the point of this thread, then something happened and now its late summer, or something like that. Some people are saying Tiesto/PvD @ the same event(making it june beacuse of tiesto tour) which unless they have a 8000 person venue will be so uncomfortable, I dont know if I would make the trek for it.

I dunno..just grapevine news.
either way, I bet both Calgary and Edmonton (and Van) get Tiesto in June/July

Posted by United on Apr-07-2004 16:37:

Not fallen apart. Just too early to announce. For now, come enjoy Way Out West LIVE PA (Female Vocalist) and DJ Sets by Jody Wisternoff and Nick Warren on May 12th. We have big shows in June that we'll be announcing. Don't want to take attention away from our May events.

Then what's the point of making a thread about something you cant talk about for months?

Posted by j_spot on Apr-07-2004 21:13:

I didnt say fallen apart
I said something happened

I dont doubt that an Alberta promoter or two have PvD coming in the summer of '04
