Poloroid - So Damn Beautiful (Dogzilla Remix)

Posted by Jeremy H on Jan-18-2005 16:08:

Shittiest hardtrance year ever..
Really liked these tracks tho:
- Alphazone - Flashback
- Woodshokk - Tulips & Chocolate (original mix)

I miss the good old flutlicht and S.H.O.K.K. tracks..

They even moved closer to our border to perform here more often. But hardtrance isn't that popular here on TA, no, although there are a lot of people from the UK who appreciate the harder sounds too

yeh, sadly most hard trance artists make a shit sound, use the same cliche gash sounds, scot project style kick drums, bass and synths. SHOKK and flutlicht used to be different but theyre not around anymore. i mean, i like to play hard trance but there is only ever the odd decent tune among the millions (infact hardly that these days) that sounds different and good now that marco guardia has hung up his producing boots. i mean, most of the decent hard stuff is more tech trancey, stuff like innergy - dynomite or that mucho - dont snare at me.

however this year ingo has rescued the harder sound for me. he's ditched the shitty cliche hardhouse and started producing some good hard tech trance/hard trance. tunes like:

ingo vs. eseni - scare tactics
mda & spherical vs. greg brookman - levitation (ingo remix)
ingo vs. anne savage - never never land
ingo vs. danny gilligan - now is the time

To be honest I've never heared of Ingo...but I will sure check it out! I do agree on your statement too. A lot of hardtrance is sounding the same lately, becoming less original. Especially this year was pretty poor. Although SHOKK is still around (Woodshokk (Marcel Woods & Shokk) - Tulips & Chocolate), it's only DJ Natron who still performs under the Flutlicht-guise (Dance Valley Winter Edition) but there won't be any tracks, no. It's a shame, because Flutlicht rocked! But well, I just hang on to the gems that are still around and the memories some tracks gave me this years. But I must say that there are some hardtranceartists who have a sound not based on Scot Project, I think DuMonde has got a pretty unique sound IMO. If I hear a track of them it's always immidiately reconizable as a track of theirs.

There's not a single hard trance tune in that list. You could've at least taken the releasegroup names out.

SHOKK is still around but its only claudio atm. no marco gurdia who was also part of flutlicht, shame really. and dumonde brought out a few decent tunes under their no faces alias not so long ago.

i find no hacker a bit boring, its more like its tryign to be tech trance but just failing.

tanksi and savietto - outrageous was good, but more recently trance town - fingers (max savietto mix part one) im liking, its not a "big " tune or anything, just subtle hardness.

ok so heres my list of favorite hardtrance tunes for 2004..

Sa.Vee.Oh - No Hacker.exe
Sa.Vee.Oh - Loop Hole
Kan Cold & Frank Ellrich - Theme of Pharmacy
Kan Cold & Frank Ellrich - Transmission
Kan Cold - requiem (its melody reminds me barbars adagio for strings)
A.S.Y.S - Acid nightmare (Warmduscher remix) not sure if its from 2004 or earlier
Twilight - Far Beyond
Tommy Pulse - The answer
wavetraxx - das boot
Rapha - Jack attack (which is more hardstyle than hardtrance)

And now to my faviorate hardstyle tunes:

Teknoid - Edge of darkness
High voltage - bombs away
Mindcontroller - slaves

hope ull find them all as amazing as i did :0

Amen to that. Born Blind/First Session both remind me a little bit of A1/B1 on the Tracid Traxxx EP. Awesome tunes.

A couple worth mentioning:

DJ Wag - Gettin High

and I think Scot Project has a new release coming sometime this month called "Rougher" that I'm sure will kick.

Also, even though I suppose it's more techno than trance:

VPL - T Break (Jules & Masterson Remix)

The breakdown in that track just blows my mind!

Posted by nuclear on Feb-05-2005 03:55:

probably the best hardtrance tune for 2003 was Next Exit - Rise of Nations... mat silver and tony burt also did a nice work on the remix
just closing my eyes while the melody plays give me massive head vibrations

Posted by AlphaStarred on Feb-05-2005 04:05:

all i can think of from the top of my skull is Max Savietto - Nightfly/Still Waiting
