It's great that the CD will be coming out in the states! Now if I were only old enough to actually go see Armin live at Circus in L.A.! (I can't since I'm 18 - not 21)

It's a shame that Armin had to fuck up and put that horrible track Burned with Desire as the last track on Disc 1. Poor Armin... too bad he can't rewind his productions back to the quality of Blue Fear & Communication.

This is the shit Can't wait, ... still 6 days to go!

Posted by Dan1584 on Mar-23-2004 19:28:

I woke up today, took a shower and ran my ass out to Borders and bought this beauty before it was all gone...there were only 2 copies left & they orginally had 10.

I'm listening to it as I type this...right now I'm in the middle of #3) Whirlpool - Under The Sun [Solar Stone Remix]. Even though I've heard a lot of these tracks already, to hear them on CD quality and mixed together so magnificently to create an overall "mood" it makes it all the more better...so far I'm lovin' it!

[will be back to finish review]

I envy you all that can buy it and go listen to it right after... in this deep hole that is Portugal, we gotta use those amazing websites to buy it and wait and dispair until they remember to deliver it...

I'm not going to do a track by track review, but I have returned with my verdict.

I currently own 5 Armin albums:

003 In Motion
004 Transparance
Basic Instinct
Boundaries Of Imagination
76

Now I have a 6th one to add to that wonderful collection. I love Armin's mixes...he can mix very well and he has an amazing mind when it comes to track selection and flow. The liner notes describe the sound Armin plays throughout this album "The old Oakenfold sound, the warm melodic driving music, not the euphoric cheese w/ vocals, predictable breaks & drumrolls that you hear now in the charts". The album has a classic trance sound with a modern edge. Both Cd's convey a very warm & melodic feel to them.

DISC 1
-------
The more energetic of the 2 starts out beautifully, but I dislike how Armin didn't use a soft emotional intro, instead it just starts with a break beat...eh, oh well. The whole CD is continuous with emotion, warmth and classy trance which just gets more beautiful as the music flows. The transitions & beatmatching are right on point. This mix is a great one. Highlights include:

Solid Globe - Sahara
Whirlpool - Under The Sun (Solar Stone Remix)
Active Sight - The Search For Freedom
Oceanlab - Satellite (Above & Beyond Mix)
Robert Nickson - Spiral

DISC 2
-------
This disc is very progressive, but definetly on the trance side. I would call this type of progressive "epic progressive trance." This side is so classy and smooth, you just get a really relaxed (but dancable) vibe from this mix. The only thing I was semi-disapointed with was the new M.I.K.E. track, which wasn't what I had hoped. However there are a lot of great tracks, and the emotion throughout the mix is very strong. Highlights Include:

Michael Burns - The Ambience
Peter Martin pres. Anthanasia - Perfect Wave
Mono - Rise
True Form - Forbidden Colours

OVERALL
-------
This CD mix is a great addition to the Armin van Buuren collection, and any fan of trance and AvB should get this album. Is this album something that will stand out this year? Probably not, we have a lot more interesting stuff that's coming our way. I think Armin said he's releasing one more mix album this year and then his new production based album will be released in 2005, and until then he's not making any new remixes or productions...but that he might release his first single this summer..yay.

Score: 8/10

My sentiments exactly. Guess I know where to pick up my copy of this c.d. I have about a third of the tracks that's on the album, but what makes me drool is to have c.d. quality copies of Sahara and Time to Say Good-bye (Passiva remix). Oh yeah.

hey pal!

I don't think armin spun up this mix for internet geeks like yourself who spends all their time downloading other peoples music for free.

these tracks are only old to you cause you have Kazaa Soul Seek and the Hub and fuck around all day on the internet.

Track #3 on CD2....the Michael Burns - The Ambience track...is really, really good. Anyone agree?

I'd never heard it before on ASoT, so it's new to me.
