i started drinking while i was in germany. but at 15. i remember my first time drunk. it was awesome. it was new years eve, and everybody was like here have a drink, so i took it. i thought it tasted horrible, but i kept drinking it. tiquila shots. i held my nose, but it still burned. all in all, i had 5 shots of tiquila, and 3 of vodka, i got fucked up. i had good friends though. i crashed at one of my buddies house for the night, til next morning.
took the bus home.
but now i live in america, and it illigal to drink. legal age is 21..............
who gives a shit, i still drink every chance i get and get drunk. do they honestly believe that people are going to follow that law??? its like the drug war. they can try as hard as they want, but there will always be drugs....

But don't you think there would be even MORE kids drinking if it was legal to do so? And even MORE kids getting into accidents and crashes?

i believe people make the decision about alchohol when they are about 15-16. In today's age, those that choose to consume alchohol will find ways to get it underage. Locally, that's the way it is here. I just hope that laws dealing with intoxication (such as DUIs) are stricter on those 18-21.
however, with younger minds comes more curiousity and i don't know if we'll have alchoholics by the time they are ready to live on their own and start their careers (or pursue higher education)

Your highliting an important point Heinz. Even if your under 21 and can't get booze in America....you have serious social/interaction problems with people. The 21 drinking age has never worked and never will. Asking someone 21 or over to buy for you and giving them a tip for it usually works most of the time. If anything, the current drinking age is counter productive.....perhaps the reason why about 60% of kids were hardcore binge drinkers by the time I was a freshman in high school. By the time i was a senior it was more around 75%. I say drop the age to 18, but I think 19 would be more of a compromise....essecially in America.

drinking age is 21 in the US EXCEPT in 1 state. Louisiana is 18 because their state constitution is based on french law

it should stay 21. my little step brother is 18 and hes a fucktard. him being able to legally drink would downright SCARE me.
the maturity jump from 18-19 is big enough, the maturity difference between 18 and 21 is huuuuge.
although it would be a good form of natural selection. let the idiots cull themselves from the population.
