you can choose types of potatoes.

there is this stupid fad now called organic vegtables and fruits. i personally don't follow such fads.

anyways, from my ppoint of view, i'm saying that there is much worse things to worry about in the air and our water supply (especially Toronto air, my Toronto asthma is returning for the summer already) that a minute bit of titatium dioxide in toothpaste that you spit out most of it anyway does not make any difference.

its funny, this whole debate makes me think about people who order diet coke with there McDonalds. You think to yourself, why, why the hell does it matter when your eating McDonalds that your beverage has to be diet?

Lately studies have shown that even organic foods are not free from heavy metals and pesticides becuase of run off from other farms and such. There really is no way to get away from the poisons that we have contaminated our environment with. However you get to choose what toothpaste you use. You may not have any control over what farm your potatoes come from, or the acid rain that rains on your soon to be groceries. But you still have the power to avoid such metals in your toothpaste. To me it just makes sense I guess. If I can avoid it, why not?

on an aside, ofcourse we have the power to stop our environemnt from being poisoned but as it seems, we all still enjoy a very consumerist life which is inherently detrimental to our environment. If we all did our best, avoid driving a lot, avoid products with a lot of packaging, avoid products that which have a manufacturing process that is harmful to the environment we could make great leaps in protecting our Earth. I'm not an environmentalist at ALL but the simple fact is, is that we can choose to do our small part, yet we don't, its that attitude of "hey I don't care, whats a little more gonna hurt" that has poisoned our lives. Drastic change isnt needed nor neccecary, however some thoughtful caring would be nice.
