Not all played there..but many did .. that club is now defunct though

Electronic music isn't well accepted here.. there's a small market but it's too small i guess. Plus police keeps interfering with clubs and well..sometimes u get different groups of police trying to take their piece of the pie which wasn't big already and it just gets too damn small and probably too small to survive. Sometimes they do random check up and close the club locking everyone in and do drug tests.. it's normal that there will always be someone taking drugs but they just charge the club as a whole. Also clubbers get scared and don't go back.
Another theory is djs in bangkok are formed in to their little gang and are controlled by dj mafia who's also known as tribal mafia (i'm not gonna name any names) but these guys will allocate themselves and their friends to all clubs with terrible music and cheesy mixing hence what people get is this. so the scene doesn't grow. Next month onwards all clubs outside allowance area will have to be closed 1am.
Personally i think thai club scenes deserve this... unless they mature there shouldn't be any at all..

Thanks for clueing me in. That sounds terribly... well... aggressive... the "DJ mafia" thing isn't unheard of (*cough cough* drum 'n' bass) but the additional problems like law enforcement and shutdown legalities make it really hard to enjoy the music without consciously worrying about... well, things like this! Yikes.

There's an "allowance area"? What's that about? Can I read more on a website somewhere?
