Nope, Armin did take Mauro to court and won. Whether Mauro actually stole it or not is another issue of course..

100% B.S. Why do u think so?

Posted by pgrudo00 on Apr-15-2004 23:39:

I know the track is Iguana but who did the version were it starts out all deep, dark, and hard but then in the end it turns into this slow phat ass trance for about a minute, then switches back to the hard sh*t? cosmic gate?

Posted by denys envy on Apr-16-2004 05:03:

best part about picotto is that he's playing all over the world and converting alot of fans.
People like Tiesto and AvB (not 100% sure about this one) have never played in Minnesota or Oklahoma but Picotto takes his time to mix at these places - introducing alot of people to different genres.
Just by listening to him live I've expanded my horizons to other electronica. And like I said before he is the reason why I started listening to techno.
And why was my previous statement so f*cking funny. Unless you're a moron you should've understood what I meant. Some DJs are best at one thing like mixing or track selection. But when you put together everything about Picotto, his producing, mixing, tour schedule - he is the best and there is no doubt about it in my mind... However some choose to disagree and that's fine. You all sound like such typical Americans when you rip on me just because my view and taste on music is different from yours.

I am guessing that you are thinking about the Yoji Biomehanika Remix. Sweet track huh?

no, but i know from experience that they make mixing more fun, and when you are enjoying it you play better.

I don't know why he bothered. Like This Like That had the cheesiest, crappest melody of any Picotto track.

So george you've met mauro plenty of times and had conversartions with him to come to this conclusion?

Personal insults - the post of some one that doesn't have a clue

The thing that made picotto one of the most well established dj's in the world was the fact his dj sets used to contain up to 90% of his own material. This was very unique at the time and his sets flowed like a river even tho it was on the most part his production. You'll see people like josh wink are also doing this in their dj sets as well.

Now that mauro has stopped producing for BXR, he has cut down the quantity of productions him and ricky are doing, which is reflected in his dj sets ad which is perhaps the reason for his dj sets not being as special as before.

Mauro has great plans for his own night in ibiza along with chris liebing and has some great dj's on the line-ups including ben sims He is certainly one of the hardest working dj/producers/promoters in the world - that you cannot deny - he keeps his style very original.

As I say he's by far and away my favourite dj, but by no means the most talented, however he is IMO the best producer in the world...

as for the like this like that incident, i really do think it's BXR's fault that this went out and mauro ended up in court for it. They should have noticed the similarities to avoid any friction between the two and pulled the plug ont the project. But don't forget mauro did don another 7 or 8 mixes of the same song which are absolutely nothing like the van buuren tune.

No he's not. Listen to Dave Clarke, Adam Beyer, Christian Varela, Umek, Ben Sims, Richie Hawtin... + + + there are many dj's that own him...

What about Bailey's set?

Posted by GT40 on Apr-20-2004 18:27:

Even in the techno Slsk room they said Mauro played a good set and theri critcal all things trance and even Picotto, it makes it better that Mauro was playing mostly his productions.

he's not bad,but he plays some bangin techno for sure

Posted by Shemeck on Apr-21-2004 00:40:

Picotto is one of my favourite djs. It looks like he is comming back to his old style.

Posted by chandler on Apr-21-2004 02:15:

Nothing has been the same since Mauro Picotto started playing here in Colombia. He has introduced a whole generation to techno and turned it into the favorite electronic music genre here in Colombia.

He's unique, there's no way to argue that.

BTW, Mauro Picotto @ Innercity 2001 is by far the best techno liveset ever

Posted by Chang monkey on Apr-21-2004 02:29:

I Love Picotto. Im giving birth to his babies.

Posted by websley on May-12-2004 13:34:

He was, you don't hear anything about him over the last time

I have "The triple Album", and I must say he was really good back then. But It's more Techno, and we are talking 'bout trance here

gotta agree with you. I've seen both dj's live and gotta say that james Z is a better technical dj than picotto. However both have very original sets. Like them both.

btw. Mauros New time New place pwns!

he's not a specific style, on his website he says he doesn't coincide with just one genre, he plays all because everything is good once you get into it. i like that style because it takes skill to mix from trance into house and into techno
