What I heard in march and in his Aria set was NOT house. A touch of techno, a touch of trance.

He is not strictly a techno/hard trance/house DJ...he has said before that he plays music he enjoys, regardless of genre.

On 5/15/2004 here in LA @ Avalon, we are having - Headliner: Way Out West - Live Performance with Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff, Special Guest Hernan Cattaneo...

So maybe (i'm hoping) Hernan Cattaneo will be one of the "special guests" on 5/23/2004 @ Guv, since Nick Warren & Jody are performing Live!!!!!

Are you on crack? Picotto hasn't played a good set in Toronto since his one @ SystemS in October or November of 2002.

In fact - his last set in the KH was so horrid he will never see another dollar of mine again.

I think u are the one on crack!!! Just because YOU didn't like it, it doesn't mean others didn't like it! I personally thought his set @ KH was fucking AMAZING!!!!!!!

No, enough of the crack!!

Vath was amazing. Picotto was too busy smoking and making silly talking motions with his hands to play even a half decent set.

Hell I think about 30 of us sat on our ass waiting for the night to end about 1 hour after Picotto started. We even came up with our own club: The 4:30 club because we were going so nuts listening to that... um... music (yeah, that's what they call it)...

Oh well, different strokes for differnet folks.

I would go to this party if I was here though.

Just to see WOW and Hybrid (dj set).

Hybrid got me all funky-like (in a good way) last time they were here and WOW has some awesome tracks too..

Thumbs up

RJ I dont recall you being at District when Mauro was here last time,
I have seen him every time accept once he has come to T.O, and you are right november couldnt touch his set back at system, but he really kicked ass last time. Infact I would rate that set right next to his october 2002 set. Mixing was flawless, even though I knew almost every track, he put them all in the right order, it was just quality. Different strokes for different folks

I haven't seen Mauro last few times he was in town, but damn - his set at System in October 2002 was one of the best sets I've ever heard in my life. The whole party that night was unbelievable, one of my top 3 parties ever. I really doubt he will be able to recreate that though because his style has somewhat changed since then.

Posted by tomeboy on Apr-23-2004 22:00:

Yes you would never be able to recreate that sound, it was at a time when he was still playing some of his older stuff. You heard a great mix of classics and new stuff that night. Easily best Picotto set I have heard.

time for me to step in ...

Recently MP hasn't been doing that well at all. I wasn't at Districk but, it was better then his preformence at the KH. Let's hope MP throws it down proppa at Freedom.

BEST MP sets in Toronto

North American Debute @ System

and

Guvernment Canada Day(Many years ago)

PS.

Vath vs MP .... Vath murdered MP that night.

Posted by tomeboy on Apr-24-2004 01:22:

MP at canada day was awesome, first time I saw him live, and my first time @ guv.

I wasn't there. Sounds like I missed out on a good opportunity for redemption.

Oct 2002 was the best Mauro - it would be hard for him to exceed that - and if we does, WOO HAA - you're all in for a treat.

Isn't that what I said?
