I am not stupid and I realize shit like that happens all the time. I am not commenting on right or wrong...I am commenting on your comparison. I think it was the method of execution that is the issue.

Let's be honest...would you rather be shot and killed or would you rather have your head sliced off? His throat wasn't "cut"...his head was cut off with a knife and it took the guy forever to do it. Was it more "savage"? Yes...absolutely.

Foreign policy? It's nice to think that America is policing the world for the good of all - and Britain come to that. But it seems to me, as in any area of politics, that the preachers have to be whiter than white, or sooner rather than later they will be found out and their own shit will come right back at them.

People in the world generally aren't stupid, yet the politicians seem to think they can treat them as though they are, and get away with it. Wrong!! People can't always have the wool pulled over their eyes. People know Saddam shouldn't have been allowed to continue. People know that the US (and Britain) shouldn't have been abusing prisoners. It appears that the locals already knew by word of mouth what the americans were doing in the prison.

How do the american government expect Iraqi's, or the rest of the world to respect them when they are doing this. To preach peace to the world, and try and convince us that America cares about anybody but themselves requires a minimum that they are honest, open, and that their actions are transparent for all to see.

Oh yeh. They were open and honest, and just a bit too transparent. You need to be clean on the inside before you get too transparent.

Simply put...

People like Daniel Pearl and Nick Berg are the people that are going straight to heaven, or any sort of paradise you believe in. These poor fellows (God rest their souls) did not deserve this at all, and the people that killed them are nothing but dirty, evil, pathetic disgusting animals. These terrorists and extremeists deserve nothing less than the most gruesome, painful and agonizing of deaths.
I will not watch this video because I believe that Nick Berg's death ought not be publicized and become public viewing material. Deaths in any shape or form are not things to be oogled over.

Having said that...

For all of you people who think that the Middle East should be blown up, wiped off the face of the Earth, etc. I am saddened at how pathetic you are. What kind of a solution would that be to any problem? You are obviously not the politicians and decision makers of tomorrow, because if you were...God help us all. I believe that you people should rethink what you have posted. Hopefully you will see the stupidity and immaturity of the content of your posts. If, however, you honestly believe in the destruction of the Middle East then I pity you. People like you are thw CAUSE of problems in the world.

Not to take this to a higher immoral level, I don't think it's such a bad idea if the Berg video circulates. I mean, sure you won't show it on TV and whatnot. However, if someone wants to see it on the Internet that's fine because they choose if they want to view it or not. If at least some of us don't see it, Berg would just be another number added to the list of casualities of the war. But (not to be immoral as I said before) by viewing his death people who aren't in the war get a firsthand look at one of many deaths of Americans in Iraq over the past year, even though this one is far more gruesome. It helps to engender sympathy for the troops.

That's true. It's selective on the internet. It's just that my personal feelings dictate that viewing such a death is disrespectful becuase you're exacerbating the situation. Its hard for me to explain, I just feel that the video shouldn't be shwon to everyone.
