if a PCDJ has less of a chance than a real DJ then that should be mentioned in the rules. if not then it shouldn't make a difference.

Posted by jcosgrove on Jun-26-2004 14:46:

i can definitely tell the difference between a mix done via software and the real thing, its not really that difficult.

Well back to the drawing board....

I've been keeping an eye on this, I got afew tricks up my sleeve to make the set.....stand out, can't wait till I actually can get the time alone to do this without any interuptions.

Posted by Eric Foard on Jul-06-2004 10:17:

I finished my set today, 55 minutes and 2 seconds. Going to be sending it to said address tomorrow. Could be some of my best work. Worked it all out on the 4th and recorded it on the 5th. Good stuff for sure. Chilled out Trance.

Question, will you guys give a final number of how many people enter the contest?

Thanks for the contest. Im looking forward to seeing the 10 finalists.

Good Luck Everybody!

Posted by globalgirl on Jul-06-2004 13:51:

last year we had a little over 500 entries. I'll count them all when I post the top 10.

The sets we already have sound amazing. Great stuff.

Hey guys I am new to this website. about 6 mounths ago i started to get into music production. Iv'e been woring on a full length album and i saw that there was this contest a week ago so I decided to start putting toghther a mix at first I was going to use all origanal production , house progresive, and trance but than i decided to mix it up. I was just wondering if any one else was using origanl production in there mix, i'll probably end up using 2 or 3 tracks and than totally remaking a couple tracks I cant get . Just wanted to also know what equipment people would be using to remix.

Same here. You can defiantely tell on my mix too, because some people like me don't have all the best stuff to play with, so you can really hear some of those scratches on the records or the faders.

Posted by globalgirl on Jul-22-2004 23:18:

okay everyone, the judging will begin Monday July 26. Deadline for entries is Monday August 2...so get them in soon!

Is it ok if the cd is received monday at 3pm???

Posted by MykonosBoy22 on Jul-30-2004 22:43:

I sent out my cd yesterday(thursday) w/express mail, it arrived there 9a.m. today(friday). I called to track and confirm the package earlier and they said no one was there to claim the package; I told them it was a P.O. Box so no one would be there to accept it on delivery, then they said a notice would be left in the P.O. box for the person to pick up the package at the front desk or office. I hope I dont have any problems, did anyone else who sent it express mail encounter any problem? Would GlobalGirl know if any such notifications are left in the p.o. box.?

Posted by djdoktor on Jul-31-2004 00:10:

my express mail was recieved... i checked my tracking. it got there thursday the 29th around noon.

Posted by Dave Piazza on Jul-31-2004 00:31:

I sent it 2 days ago through UPS but it could not be deleivered to a p.o. box. UPS left a post card for in p.o. box address to provide a address for delivery ( small box with my name Dave Piazza) . I was told by UPS and FED Ex that only USPS can deliver to a a P.O. Box. Now I am hoping I can send an express package tommorow which I was told would be received Monday

Posted by MykonosBoy22 on Jul-31-2004 00:42:

Same problem!!! Package is from Dave Piazza.

Posted by MykonosBoy22 on Aug-03-2004 00:54:

Wow, that really sucks Dave; but something tells me that my cd is gonna be on my door stoop also. I really do hope that they got those notices. Another person also send me an email, he is having the same problems as we. Mine has been there since friday morning without being accepted so who knows. as you said i really dont understand why tehy would not put the package in the p.o box. I would love to know the reason for the policies the PO has. And when you call up its a different story every time, this is so aggravating; they're either incompitent, rude or lazy.

p.s. i foresee where my package is enroute to:

Posted by djdoktor on Aug-03-2004 04:39:

well i sent it usps express overnight on the 28th... and it got there the next day... i checked the tracking.. it arrived around noonish

Your item was delivered at 11:51 am on July 29, 2004 in HOLLYWOOD, FL 33081.

Hi John,

I read your new post on the tranceaddict forums and it's really unfortunate that some us are having these type of problems. It's really aggravating to know that our CDs have not been received by the global dj broadcast despite our effort to send them in a timely fashion.

I sent an email yesterday to the globaldjbroadcast about the problem, but they haven't responded yet.

I also left a post on the official globaldjbroadcast forum and someone said to me that maybe the CDs weren't delivered because the "waiver of signature" box on the package slip was left unchecked (which is a really good point). However, I did in fact check that box. As to why the delivery guy didn't release the package in spite of these explicit instructions is anyone's guess.

Now considering the fact that the the CDs arrived at post office BEFORE the deadline, and will be held there for five days after the second delivery attempt until someone picks them up should hopefully mean that we still have a chance to have our CDs in the global dj broadcast offices.

And even if our CDs are held for five days until someone picks them up, the fact is that they arrived there BEFORE August 2nd, so technically speaking, they arrived at their designated destination just in time for the deadline.

Sincerely,

Josef Lefranc
(AKA DJ Verbatim)
