I can only imagine if we win
itll be in-fucking-sane
50k people after game 5
I bet 75k no prob if we win in 6.

I'll be down there too...just trying to decide where to make reservations on 17th to watch the game right now.

Stanley Cup + Saturday Night + 25 degree weather = 75k no problem.

I'm glad I live close enough to walk home too. Catching a cab from downtown lately has been impossible.

Who thinks Martin Gelinas will score the game winner?

Posted by JustinStyles on Jun-04-2004 22:47:

Rasta

I AM SOOOOO HAPPY FOR CALGARY!

I would love to come down to the city and party it up with all the CALGARIANS, but alas, I am stuck down here in T.O

CALGARY IN 6...I CALLED IT!

Hope all is well in CALGARY LAND!

Peace

Styles

Well its gonna be insane if we win tomorrow and I really think we will!!!!
The city will go nuts for sure if we win!
I think maybe closer to 100K+ maybe, you never know what could happen if we win the cup tomorrow night.

GO FLAMES GO!!!!!!

Posted by Wrench on Jun-05-2004 15:44:

Well, this is it...Good Luck, Boys...you get out there and play the best damn game of Hockey we've ever seen..GO FLAMES GO

Posted by Dmatrox on Jun-06-2004 04:03:

why wasnt that 3rd calgary goal counted in the 3rd period? what a disapointment. calgary not clearing their zone on many occasions. grrr.

Lets win game 7!

Posted by LinX on Jun-06-2004 04:29:

that was an awesome game sorry canadians

haha that goal was scored like 3 secs into the 2nd ot, i wasnt even paying attention i was looking down then BOOM! goal!!!

GO FLAMES GO (dont worry game 7 is deff going to the flames)

Posted by Dmatrox on Jun-06-2004 04:34:

wasnt happy with their performance today. Maybe they should tune in to don cherry during the break and learn something. If the flames wanna win game 7 they have to clear their own zone flip and puck or bank it, and they need to shoot the puck! You arent going to score if you dont shoot the puck and dont hit the net. Take shots hard and low and wait for a rebound.

Posted by r12 on Jun-06-2004 17:19:

all i have to say about the 3rd period goal is that ... it was in with no doubt!
inconclusive evidence...
does hockey sound like CSI miami WTF!

that was awesome?
it was pretty fluky IMO
2 flames on the ice, one falls over the other trying to clear, and a shot from a bad angle that goes in off kipper?
bah..

in 7 it is.

Let's Do It!!!

well know is the time to sack up and bring the cup home where it belongs!!!!!

GO FLAMES GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Jet_Gemini on Jun-07-2004 02:13:

That goal was so anti-climatic. I would have gone home instead of 17th Ave. had I not already been drunk.

Posted by TrancEuphoria on Jun-07-2004 19:28:

yeah I feel I wasted my drunk too oh well it was still alright. Tonight should be good, were bringing home the cup!!!

I think Jay's referring to the call on the St. Louis hit. I thought that was completely legal, I don't think he jumped or anything.

Anyways, Calgary still deserves congratulations on a great playoff run. Congratulations guys.

Posted by Dmatrox on Jun-08-2004 03:17:

St. Louis is a small player, but calgary was careless on that hit. Ferrence went down on St.Louis with his stick to the face.

I guess Richards won the Conn Smythe, no surprise there.

Posted by Vanilla on Jun-08-2004 03:26:

Be proud Calgary. We proved we can hang with the best.

Posted by Wrench on Jun-08-2004 03:27:

A very upsetting turnout. Well, Congratulations to Dave Andreychuck (Spelling) finally winning a cup after 22 years. I've always liked that dude, ever since he played for the Leafs.

And most importantly, Congratulations to the Calgary Flames for putting out such an awesome effort this year. Nobody thought they would go this far. GO FLAMES!

Posted by r12 on Jun-08-2004 03:57:

flames did very well this year.. but i dunno about u guys... game seems a bit fixed... come'on those penalties were'nt really penalties... if that was tripping... what was that play in 2nd overtime when they scored... sure look like trippin to me... and they didnt call it and tampa score... bitter sweet i guess.... bahh might as well call it american hockey league.. since no canadian team would stand a chance!

Posted by DannyO on Jun-08-2004 03:57:

Just wanna say, Congratulations to the Flames, they did better than anyone expected this season, I hope they come back feeling like winners cos they are, and I hope they are greeted by a happy and crazy crowd, they didn't win the cup, but they made we a big fan of theres.

GO FLAMES GO

Posted by DjFIL on Jun-08-2004 03:59:

Not trying to be mean... but. Yay Lightning! I've been a fan of theirs (as my eastern team... Vancouver being #1 because they're my home town team) since they were brought in to the league in 91, when I was 9. I never saw this as Canada vs USA... this was Lightning vs Flames... nothing else. All the media hyping Calgary as "canada's team" was B.S. to me (and probably other bits of canada where tampa bay players have hometowns... and the Canadian content of both teams are at 60% each)... fact is there is only 1 "Canada's team" agreed on by everyone in Canada... and that is Team Canada, and what a team we have for this upcoming World Cup.

Flames fans, you have nothing to be ashamed about... your team played very well... and created an awesome and exciting series that was taken to the bitter end.

Posted by Sean Walsh on Jun-08-2004 13:38:

Welp it always hurts getting that close and losing; I know how it is from '94. However, the flames knocked out the three top teams in the west en route, and came as close as possible really.

Can't wait for next seasonn
