my 2 cents
Question for Jayx1
Jayx1, don't take this the wrong way (and if it's been covered before then I apologize for not wanting to sift through mounds of old posts), but i'm curious to know a few things about you....
mainly, how old you are and what your educational and/or work backgrounds are?
given your obvious interest (and apparent 'expertise'
) in political, legal and cultural discussions, I'm interested to know what experience you are speaking from
Degree in Psychology. Worked part time in bylaw services for 3 years. Also worked in various nightclubs for 5 years. Now a brand new entrepreneur. Plus ive been reading and watching the news since i was 5 years old.
(i didnt know resumes were needed to post on a message board..... well i guess if dishwashers need resumes these days it makes sense)
heheheheh

Exactly, because ive seen how stupid blind sighted laws can affect our everyday lives.

Yes (as if that matters) and my age isnt important...
frankly, i'm interested....
I'm trying to determine if I'm correct in assuming that essentially your opinions are those of a lay person with virtually no experience or education at all in law, politics, finance or public service apart from some sort of student-type position in a municipal bylaw dept.
well layman or not (layperson is one PC word i will NEVER use), a person's opinion is always a valid one. It doesn't mean it holds true necissarily but if the person expressing it feels passionately about it than it's their version of what is correct. There is never one answer for a complex problem. Trying to discredit someone because they may or may not have a job or professional experience isnt always the answer. Some of the smartest people i know have never even finished high school.
Having said that my personal experience both in life and professionally have taught me quite a bit about how the world works, especially when it comes to politics and law. Im no lawyer, never claimed to be and never will be, but i feel that i have a better knowledge of my rights as a citizen than most people in this country no matter what age.
And no i was never a student worker. Bylaw dept where i live hires most of its staff part time to avoid unions and benefits costs. This is why i have decided to work for myself.
thanks...you've (mostly) answered my question...and from your answer it would appear that my assumption was, for the most part, correct
don't misinterpret my intentions...I'm not trying to discredit you or be condescending....I was simply to trying to get a handle on what kind of experience and expertise is behind your opinions, whether I agree with them or not
your assumptions being?
Considering you dont know me and still dont know me i find it quite amusing that you are making judgements here. I wont ask what you do or who you are because quite frankly i dont care. Your opinions are your opinions... end of story.

Ahhhh but have i not provided facts every single time from a valid source? Yes i have.
Just because im not a professional politician doesnt mean i dont know politics.

Right.... so because i feel passionately about my opinions some how they become more invalid.
Hmmm well so far based on what you have said i have come to the conclusion that you feel that unless someone is getting paid, or had been paid to do something in their life, their opinions about a topic are irrelevent. Which means most people here probably shouldnt be talking about much more than flipping burgers or pumping gas. I guess that also cuts out all the tiesto threads too since most people here are not DJs..
one's background, education, employment, etc. really has little to do with how valid one's arguments prove to be...an position stands on its own merits...but in terms of how our opinions are formed and what our perspective on certain issues might be, I think it's worth knowing a bit of background so long as that isn't used in response to the person's arguments (ad hominem attacks are lame!)
It's relevent if it adds to your comment but irrelevent if it doesn't. There are many different avenues one can take to educate themselves. One way is by opening a business. Now theres a quagmire of legal BS if i've ever seen one.

your opinions might be valid ones, but the fact that you have an opinion on every fucking topic, it getting kind of annoying. and you repeat the same crap over and over again.
so don't be surprised if some people here choose to put you on ignore, because once you read 10 Jayx1 posts, you have read them all.

| the assumption was that you have "virtually no experience or education at all in law, politics, finance or public service" Who I am, and what I do, aren't of any relevance here. I'm not the person who has taken it upon themselves to educate this forum on politics and the like. Given that you come across as being quite the expert in this area, I was interested in your background. |

Not at all... i supported my arguement but at the end of the day that statement really does hold true...
Personal attacks may be designed to hurt my feelings but unless they are coming from supposed friends or family in real life i really dont give a rats ass. And, i know that really pisses some people here off.
