What is the set time for PVD? I was thinking it would be 1 am - close( which I think is 4:30 am).

P.S.

Does anyone have the tracklist to the april PVD show her in Chicago.

Its either PvD or Holden, Tripwire, and Mazi the next night.
The latter sounds better to me now, unless Paul is gonna spin 3+ hours. Then I might be convinced

Tom - I don't even think PVD will know until he gets here....

:P

Mazi and holden over PVD??? That is a no brainer choice .. PVD!!! I saq mazi open for armin at vision and he really really sucked! I mean he was playing the most anoyoing crap. The whole dance floor was like this sucks. To make it worst armin was running late and all of us had to deal with it for an extra hour. So too me it really a choice of holden vs. PVD. I am pretty sure PVD will be playing for 3 hrs. can anyone confirm this. PVD's website usually give set time a few days before the show

go see Holden, Tripwire and Mazi - this trio doesn't come around very often to chicago and if you want to hear some funky, tech-house you gotta go to this show! Jay and Mazi will be tag-teaming the whole night....

then come to the RRR on Sunday for some special guests

This is what I came up with:

Rhythm Gangstar - The Crowd Song (PvD Edit)
Tillman Uhrmacher - On the Run (Ocean to Shore Club Mix)
Way out West - Mindcircus (Encore)
Corderoy - Sweetest Dreams (Ferry Corsten Mix)
Nick Lunn & Y.O.M.C Pres. Techno-Punk - Energize (Paul van Dyk Edit)
Agnelli & Nelson Ft. Aureas - Holding Onto Nothing (Paul van Dyk Edit)
PvD - TOOL (Vandit Club Mix)
Pvd vs Second Sun - Crush (Vandit Club Mix)
Marc et Claude - The History of Acid House (? Mix)
G&M Project - Sunday Afternoon (M.O.R.P.H Remix)
Castaneda - Floor Control (John Askew Remix)
Mojado feat. Mr. Sam - Naranja (Dimitri Andreas Vision Mix)
Oceanlab feat Justine Suissa - Satellite (Alex Oddens Flipside Vocal Mix)
Paul van Dyk - Buenaventura (Paul van Dyk Remix)
Love Fist - Hanging on a String (E-Craig Mix)
Mike Robbins - Are You A Freak (Marcel Woods Techtrance Mix)
Chris Liebing - American Madness
Jaron Inc - Overflow
St. John vs. Locust - Mindcircles
Sander van Doorn - Loaded
Remy & Roland Klinkenberg - Till Ya Drop

Alot more unrecognized tracks were played early on.

I'm definitely more excited about Holden, Tripwire, Mazi over PVD. Especially after Holden's set in February @ Vision.

I've seen PVD a lot since March (Space, Ultra, Vision, SummerStage, Spirit). So I definitely got my PVD fix. I'll still be there at the show though since it's a great way to celebrate my B-Day!! So if any if you TA's want to party, PM me and let me know. I trying to put together a group for a bottle so we could get into the VIP area that night.

IMO, I think we'll be really lucky to get PVD for more than his contracted 2 hours @ Sound-Bar. I just don't see him being impressed enough with Sound-Bar to request an extended set like he did in April @ Vision. It would be great if he did but I just don't see it happening.

doubtful - pvd usually has a 2 hour limit in his contract and whether or not he plays a minute more is totally up to him - since sound-bar closes at 4:00 am on friday - he'll probably go on around 1:30 or so...don't know if there is a closer

Posted by krusty11 on Jul-07-2004 18:13:

i asked the pvd-team via e-mail.

it isnt sure how long he will play until now.
but we will find it online soon.

the april playlist looks amazing. This is the only PVD I missed and judging from the tracks played it was by far imo one of his better sets. very very differnt than his central park set.

My opinion of sound bar.....

I think the sound system at sound bar is proablly the best in the city imo. Especially comapared to vision. I think this is the case because the dance floor is much much smaller and the speakers are placed closer to the crowd. The lighting at sound bar is also very good. However it doesnt have any co2 machine. The place is also very clean and the bar area are pretty cool. The staff is much much better than vision. so you shouldnt expect ass#ole bouncers pushing you around to get a autograph after the show. that said the big draw back of the place is the layout. The main dance floor is way to small of this type of venue. The dance floor entends out horizontally , which means that the entire dance floor is not visiable or seen by the dj. to much space was wasted in creating mulitiple rooms instead of focusing on one or two high quality rooms. I just pray the sound bar is smart enough to limit capacity to only 600. It say cap. is 800 but thats for the entire club which included upstairs main floor and down stairs 2nd floor and the east end lounge. 600 people on the main floor of sound bar ) which is a # expectd to show to see PVD) will make that tiny dance floor pretty uncomfortable imo.unless people will be happy enough to spread out and occupy the sides and rear of the floor.

16 more days unitl the show.....

Is it also 37 U$ at the door?
Because last year, when I went to Armin @ Vision, I had to pay 20 U$ for entry and then 5 U$ extra to get on the floor, where Armin was playing.

Because 37 U$ are lot of money. And if Paul plays only 2 hours.
In Munich I pay the half of the price and will see him the double time (4 hours!)

on the other side, I would really like to see the atmosphere if Paul plays in Chicago.

I saw him only a few times in Munich, Dresden and Berlin.

Yea... see... about that... the numbers I've heard quoted to book pvd in the u.s. require rather high ticket prices. I'm sure after several years of jet setting around the world, I might start to make people really really sure they want to see me (i.e. high ticket prices)

I think compared to a show in Germany you will be disappointed if you spend twice the amount to see him for half the time at Soundbar but if you are a fan of Paul's it will probably be worth it either way.

I would almost guarantee they don't let anyone in at the door (will be sold out). I've heard that PVD is $25-30K on weekends...and Soundbar's capacity is not that huge hence the high prices. Will be worth the $37 though!

Yeah it'll be worth it but it still won't compare to SS or Spirit.

On an unrelated note, Sorry Mike. I won't be able to catch your set on 7/17 at the Vic. I'll be out of town that weekend. Just keep posting your shows and I'll definitely make it out to some of them.

Cool - hopefully there will be more soon!
