Well said, but I think that in cases of lawsuits, there should be some kind of restrictions or such. Not relating to this lawsuit but ridiculous ones like mom sues Mac Donalds for making her kids fat, or woman sues for Janet's boob.

Hey, who doesn't hate frivolous lawsuits? But like I said, you gotta put up with the "bads" in order to have the "goods".

Besides, a number of state lawmakers are creating Amendments that limit frivolous lawsuits of this nature, like the "fast-food making us fat" type situations.

You mean you guys actually listen to trance music??? I haven't listened to any good new trance in a while. Any good suggestions? I'm not about to take this question to the music forum--I'd be a stranger in a strange land.

I love this country and what it can do for me!

To be completely honest, yeah I still do every once in a while - usually just for "old time sake". For the most part, however, I don't listen much to anything dance-wise anymore. Hell, the last CD I bought was Dizzie Gillespie's greatest hits, so that may give you an idea where my music interests lie lately!

The last time the Mrs. and I listened to "trance" was about 2 weeks ago when she slipped in a Ferry Corsten CD and attempted to recall the last time we listened to it. We both drew blanks. Funny thing about drugs and memory - they don't mix well.

i'm to old to dance. i just kinda bop in my chair listening to prog thinking about the new world order. pathetic

Edit: my comments about suing Tranceaddict were more or less because us bleedin' heart liberals "feel" the pain of these hapless victims in our society, and that all lawsuits deserve merit and money.

Right?

Guys?

Hello?

Class? Anyone, anyone?

Damn crickets.

Check my posts on COR. Always new trance since I spend 2/3 on MP3 sites and only about 1/3 or less here. I'm in it for the music and not the conversation...

internet radio is the key, then you don't have to bother looking for the music

Heh, unfortunately I have a 56k modem, so I'm gonna have to wait a while on this one...

But yeah, I don't listen to trance that much either nowadays. Guess I'm too lazy to search for mp3s. Most recently I'm listening to some weird gothic-metal-dance music

Posted by Shakka on Jun-16-2004 12:10:

haha! Thread successfully hijacked!

Yeah, I know. We have only one telecom operator so they're really in no hurry to improve on technologies before the competition comes. Fortunately, the competition will come at the end of this year, so then I hope I'll get a decent connection.

Really? Have you decided on where exactly you'll be staying? And take with you that sister of yours that's making out with other girls, I'd like to meet her

Hmm, I've never been there but I suppose it's a nice place. It's not that small, so I guess there should be some satisfactory nightlife and entertainment. I'm usually staying in Malinska, that's on the north on the island Krk, cause I got a house there. It's pretty lame there though. Anyway, I heard Paul van Dyk is gonna come to Croatia this summer, but I forgot where exactly. I think it's somewhere in Istria, but I'm not sure...

Oh, well, then you guys can feel free to give me a visit

I think the whole pledge is a hypocritical toward "separation of state and church". If there is such, then why there is a reference of God in the pledge?

I think it has something to do with a general belief in God vs. belief in a specific organized religion like Catholicism, Mormon, Presbyterian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Shinto, etc.

Yep, by law, every school in the country is supposed to do one act of Christian worship per day, but 99.9% of secondary schools in the country willingly break this law, because simply put, there isnt enough hours in the school day to get all the teaching done and sit around praying. The Teachers Union put pressure on the powers that be to get the law changed so their not breaking any laws any more, but to my knowledge the law still stands.

At my secondary school, on the very rare occasion that there was a prayer said in assembly, they had no problems if you didnt bow you heads and pray along with everyone else. Primary schools are a bit different though, as youll know a lot of them are connected to a major Christian denomination, so they get agitated if you dont join in like the good little fundamentalist!

I think it's highly likely that the god section is referring to the Abrahamic god and that god alone. That aside, most Hindus are polytheistic, as are many Pagans, as are (I believe) Shintoists - so they can't pledge allegiance to 'god'. Then you've got people who don't actually believe in a god; Buddhists, Humanists, Humanistic Jews, Agnostics, Atheists etc.

The US clearly isn't one nation under god - and as such the reference really shouldn't be there. If you define religion to mean the following:

quote:
"1. Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe."

How can the god reference not be considered religion?
