hhmmmm
I just read the denon mixer handles everything in digital; all inputs are converted to digital.
So a vynil/analog purist won't handle it. right? no point in warm analog sound
Well after playing on it for about a week I can say it has its bugs. Like the previous post, majority of this mixer is SOFTWARE drivin
, there are some things i found while playing around with this mixer..
1. the X fader response is terribly slow...people at the denon forums say the new patch is coming out, so you scratch djs that love cutting might wanna hold off untill this patch comes out
its kinda ironic they loaded this mixer up with a P&G x-fader
2. only 4 effects....although the rumor comes that alot more effects are coming out "crosses fingers"
the control of the effects is used with one knob....u press it down to switch the bpm paramaters and press it again to change the effect. Some find this quicker....I still find the DJM faster doing effects on my mixes, maybe it just takes pratice
As far as EQs and upfaders they are better than the DJM-600....like i said EQing could take some time to get used to...they need to update the software on the EQ parameters I think....when u cut it at around -20db...it seems the whole track "quiets" down...I dont know maybe its me but its almost like mixing on a A&H
Ill be taking my rig at the danceclub tonight to see how it performs at the club enviorment, oh btw I usally spin house and rap/hiphop so thats why I was pretty dissapointed with the x-fader...well wait till aug! even the DN-s5000 had bugs when it was released and the new patch fixed it...
well look at the bright side, denon is not greedy and remarket the X1500 with the new one X1500MKII or something lol
where i bought it for 715$?
from this guy on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...ssPageName=WDVW
he was pretty reliable.
more pics and nightclub worthy review later
Wow, how does he manage to do that... Are they refurbished or something?
Nuo5 update
I just found out,
Ecler US estimates Nuo 5 in stores by september, and they don't know what price it'll have.
cool uh?
nope when i received my unit it was sealed with the denon packaging and everything, even the serial # is in tact!
I came back from the club and im telling you I never heard that place so clear! I loved it, before my DJM cant produce such clean music...
For those who are scared to jump on this mixer just wait till the patch comes out
I think ill buy an x1500 from that guy this august (ill have the money then...) if he's still selling them of course. I just cant get over that price. Let me know if the mixer craps out on you, and you find out it has behringer parts inside or something...i'd hate to get ripped off... getting a setup will be the biggest purchase ive made in my life...(im not kidding.)
dam thats an awesome price, wish I had the money now, but I got other things I need to buy and pay for.
And for the people who are worried about the xfader, I've seen the mixer in action with the upgrade, and its a MASSIVE improvement, you got no worries about that, I dunno if this fixes the massive delay on the up faders, I hope so, I don't like xfaders, and I don't wanna get this mixer and work with faders like that.
My question about the denon is that for the poeople that bought the mixer b4 the upgrade, is it possible to upgrade it on ur own?....(software?), or do you have to send it out?, or are they out of luck? and will it cost anything to upgrade it?....I am really interested in this mixer and my b-day it coming up!!.....(nice present for myself
)
As far as i know the updates arent physical...you just download them.
Im thinking of getting the nuo instead though, it seems a bit better.

| Originally posted by Dj Ricky H That's good, but will upgrades be unlimited?...or after awhile u would have to pay for them?....also is it the same for the nuo?, where the software can be upgraded as well?....personally I think that software upgrades are a good thing, because then ur mixer can stay more current for longer times, and change with the industry as needed. I think what would be more cool is that if u can customize the software to ur own needs....now that would be the ultimate.. |
Too bad both these are JUST outside my price range.. I ain't looking to spend more than about 900CDN on my next mixer purchase which should be end of summer (sept).. so unless one, or both of these drop in price, updates aren't gonna matter for me..
So now what a good price to pay for the denon?....cheapest I found locally is $1250 cdn........
