LOL!! I agree with you Silke. Most people's taste evolve as they get older. I love prog but I'll still get down to a good trance, techno or jungle set.

ah yes i know, Ben! ... but that doesn't happen so often these days anymore. i'm way too spoilt for my own good and just won't put up with mediocre - or just plain BRUTAL butchering - anymore (thank god there's new resident blood coming up at system otherwise i would have had to hang myself, i.e. last w-e! SOOO frustrating!!!).

GOOD - as in programming and beatmatching, no matter what genre - is the key word! ^^ I like my tunes 'well done'!

oh btw...to answer the main question in this thread,

IMO, i loved TA circa summer 2002.....after that...well...no comment

Posted by disko-kandi on Jun-16-2004 20:42:

i think the expansion of TA is really important and i am all for it, especially when it comes to expanding the community to other countries and regions. i would never have met you guys if it wasn't for this board! and now that i'm heading back to europe, i will definitely scope out the different TA's in the UK, Germany ... but hey - we're missing a Swiss section!!!! perhaps i'll volunteer as the TO ambassador since i'll be moving to Geneva!

Exactly. I've been diggin' my Yo Yo Ma records more and more every day I get older.

Soon I'll like the german gangster rap.

Hey F'er!!!! I joined at the end of the summer of 2002....

What are you trying to say here....

I hope this isn't the case. We're pretty open-minded people I'd think.

When people are in a new environment (socially or otherwise) it pays to observe for a little while to learn the nuances and finer points of distinction. When people skip figuring out a situation/environment before interacting with it the results can be quite poor (Im sure).

God, now that I'm sitting here considering this, TA would make an interesting anthropological fishbowl... And Im certain we find the same rules apply on here as they do anywhere else.

goes the other way round too my friend...
sure this is Tranceaddict...but its become so much more and the older TA's have realized this...the new ones do to with time..

Posted by djeso on Jun-16-2004 23:02:

Generalizing that trance is only/mostly for kidz is silly

infact those ravers don't even listen to that much of trance instead they preffer hardstyle and techno, anyways ... and I don't see anything wrong with those kidz anyways

all music is good, i love trance and i love prog

make love not war lol

peace

edit ***

and ofcourse add techno to the list

Posted by 404 Science on Jun-16-2004 23:50:

its funny how so many threads get jacked by the prog vs trance debate... hehe.. personally i started with trance, slowly moved to prog via Gabriel & Dresden (thank you god for these two) and now im pretty much a house fan, breaks, jungle, techno... everything... even dare i say it... the occasional hardcore....

hehehe...

but i still love trance, just i have to share with other genres now that my interests are more far and reaching...

about TOTA... i remember when I first joined, I have never experienced a trance party... if it wasnt for TOTA i wouldnt have all the experiences i have to look back on... first party... Tiesto way back in december 2002, first TA I met was RJ at Timothy Coffee Pub for the pre-meetup, met alot of cool TA's since then, still havent been to a System Tranceaddict party, so many more TA's I have yet to meet.. I moved to Montreal for school, switched over to MTLTA... lemme tell you.. its just not the same vibe as the TOTA's... seriously... this is the coolest forum EVAR... you can join, attend a TA party, meet tons of cool people....

TOTA rulez....
