yes there are 100000 djs like him

i think marco v is better than them

ive seen him 3 times, and the crowd was not feeling him either of the times, maby you have had better luck.

Posted by Orpheus Is Dead on Jun-17-2004 22:56:

No. I'm not. If that was true. then i wouldn't be listening to them.
Everyone produces utter crap, and i agree that a lot of people praise utter crap. for instance: Nyanna. (in my own opinion. don't want to sart another f***ing thread about nyanna)I'm just saying that these guys have produced such good stuff in the past that it has kept them in the minds of people.

Agreed. so true at Ultra 6. The crowd was going insane when tiesto and Van Dyke dropped their euphoric lines.

So have the guys I mentioned...

Posted by sandstorm03 on Jun-17-2004 23:03:

Cosmic Gate
Airscape
Marco V
Mauro Picotto
Agnelli & Nelson
Three Drives
Hi Gate
Rank 1

Are you all saying that none of these producers come CLOSE to being as good as PVD/Tiesto/Armin/Ferry

Don't get me wrong, those 4 are great.. but even they have released utter CRAP!!!

I dont think i ever said that there are not producers that come close to the top four. But they don't come close in the dj booth other then Marco V.

i can add
Ralphie B
Steve Helstrip
Push
Darren Tate
Nu-Nrg
Chicane
Solar Stone
Mark Norman
Mike Koglin
Airwave

the only person in that group that is better then average dj is Marco V. Or am I wrong?

agreed

you know what. it's just a game of chance. A lot of people are really good, but only a few get dealt a good hand. its a game. And to tell the truth, I'm pretty sure the Dj's themselves don't care, cuz the music matters to them.

That would be part 2 of the discussion regarding these guys... Skills in the Booth.. Production and Skills are two different things.. I would have to agree that the Fab 4 definately outdo the other Big DJ's.. but when it comes down to production, I would have to slide off and say that they aren't in a league of there own... One thing they do have when it comes to productions is quantity.. They have released LOADS more tracks that any of the guys I mentioned, I will admit that..

I would like to think that half of Hi-Gate (Judge Jules), and Rank 1 would be comparable to those 4... plus Marco V... thats just IMO though..

Posted by Orpheus Is Dead on Jun-17-2004 23:24:

well. i kinda like darren tate. I was going through a rough time in my life and then i heard "let the light shine in". It pulled me out of a hole and started a chain of events that eventually led me to getting my japenese girlfriend

ill agree with marco, but the others heh .

But this thread is about over all, which includes Djing ability, and Production, which is why the top 4 are there, and marco v is right with them.

Out of my top 100 tracks, Paul, Ferry, and Tiesto's name come up most. Yes others pop up, just not as often.

Trance isn't pvd or tiesto!Trance is community and all of us.What pvd would be if there is no producents who makes good music, millions of artists?
In my opinion pvd or tiesto are not so good producents but they have great past and very well dj skills.I think they are so big cose of dj-ing.Pvd is good dj,but production is repetitive and there is planty of others who have a better work.
However, they are good DJs!But production is something different, produciton is all people, all community!I think that production must be threated better that dj-ing,but today dj is god, nobody on party don't think about artist who made these tunes...i guess you understand my me and my english

Posted by TranceSpeeder on Jun-18-2004 02:21:

whats the deal? there dj'ing skills are above everyone imo.

Posted by artur56 on Jun-18-2004 21:40:

Party Hat

Everyone havee own opinion, own fv dj's, own fav kind of music, tunes etc, and it makes music and our live more intresting.
If everyone had the same fav dj's etc it would be borring

So stop quarelling PEACE!

What about

Matt hardwick
John OO Fleming

Posted by Ibiza Dreams on Jun-19-2004 12:59:

The bottom line here revolves around one word : Seniority.

Tiesto, Ferry, and Paul van Dyk were there when Trance exploded in the 98-00 era. Can you imagine what it felt like in those days to hear masterpieces in the making, such as Out of the Blue, Silence (ISOS Remix), the Magiks, Gouryella, For an Angel, Another Way, Sparkles, Adagio for Strings... these songs and compilations are timeless in the trance genre. If you listen to these examples of songs and compilations, they are still excellent. These three guys deserve much more respect and appreciation than some of the newer producers. Some other producers named might not be so new, but they didn't churn out the masterpieces in their factories of sound like Tiesto, Ferry, and Paul van Dyk did. These guys are lasting, and they are still sounding excellent, even as they evolve. You can't see any new artists evolve because they haven't been here long enough to brand their style.

When newer producers prove they can stand the test of time and still produce great music, they will also receive the respect they deserve.

Ferry came out with:

1) Veracocha - Carte Blanche (with Vincent De Moor)
2) System F - Out of the Blue
and
3) Gouryella - Gouryella

ALL IN THE SAME YEAR!

Now THATS Talent!

Talk about 3 songs that defined trance at the time...

Its funny how they are "over rated" but no one can name anyone better, other then marco v. You people are sad.

Posted by Tranceguy1 on Jun-19-2004 13:33:

Alpha 5 was a tight track by Fleming, but other than that I can't name any good ones.
