Honestly, since I have went seperate ways with my girlfriend, now x-gf, this song makes me cry everytime I hear it. At least a hundred times I have got teary eyed from this song. Have this on repeat in my car and currently on repeat here on the computer. I LOVE this song. Its different, its got something deeper for me than just the synths.
Must say, that maybe if you loved someone sooooo much and then things go wrong, listen to this song and think about how much you may have felt that you would be the only one for them and that how its no longer. Remember the first time you made love to them. Remember how you stayed home and forgot the world existed while the you and that special person engaged in things a little deeper than bashing songs on a website. Then think what would happen if things were to end. What do you think that person thought of you as? What did you think of that person? Were they the one? Were they more than just a fuck? What would you do to keep that feeling forever? Would you be there for them forever?
And yet again, my .02
P.S. If you are reading this, you know who you are, I'm sorry for all that went wrong in our relationship. Maybe it wasn't meant to be. Or, maybe it is. "Don't Leave Home"
Poor soul. Anyway, why are you torturing yourself by playing it in your car over and over again?
What a really nice rmx by them... like it alot, think they try another style for once!!!... and yeah i like it!!!
Think more producers can try new styles... would be nice!
i like how when a song is happy people like it less. just goes to show you how fucked up people are these days. being negative rules!
i think this song rocks. the synth sounds like more of g&d's older stuff (mind circus, serve the ego) and has more of that 80's sounding groove they used to work into there old stuff. in my opinion, their old stuff has always been better than their recent mixes and this is a nice little tribute to that.
By the way: I finally managed a way to download this mix. Now, I already didn't like Gabriel and Dresden. And this mix is the worse shit I ever heard
I like most of G&D's remixes, but this one isn't one of those. It doesn't have that punch. It just goes on and on but doesn't really build up.

Nothing great imo. Quite an average remix.. 6/10
I think G&D picked the wrong track to mix. I don't know the details whether Dido requested them to mix it or whether they offered to do it.
Nonetheless, as Dave had said a while back this was a VERY hard track to remix because of the BPM of the vocals..so a cheer for good effort by G&D.

This one on new album and I love it. The synths in the end are kinda strange.
they sound strange cause they jump in alone, if they'd jump in without being played alone before, they would not sound strange :-) hehe thats my idea.. but i like them
i would have to agree that this is the worst remix ever!! ewwwwwww!!!!
Why do people always feel that need for making pop-based remixes? Why can't they f*cking first try imagine how it would sound before getting started! "Scumfrog" for example, knew what they (or he) had to do before getting actually started on remixing Dido's songs. They picked the right one: "white flag".
You can't just pick a song and lay a very structural bassline or bassdrum under it. If people want to remix this, they probably have to search in different genres to do that, like trancy breakbeat or more electro based styles. That's just the imagination G&D lack.
we dont "pick" the song, the label picks us. if you actually knew HOW much work went into the making of "dont leave home" it would make your litte 18 year old "know it all" head spin.
why don't you have a go. i'll have the record label send you te 60 parts to go with it. i'm sure you're going to do great.

Dave,
My all-time favorite rmx of yours is Dave Gahan :: I Need You.
I wish you guys would do something again with male vocals.

Well, I'd rather play my original copy of Dido's album: "Life for rent" than to go to a free party where G&D play. Not even if the location was Eindhoven! (which is about 20 km from here)
And Dave, I hope you don't name your next track: "websleyf*ckerz", lol!
