I'm all about being upfront, if you hadn't noticed. Vive le communication.

Agreed. im upfront too and have nothing to hide but it's everyone's right not to be forced to reveal themselves as well.

i agree somewhat with you jon.

but i think it was very obvious that partyharlequin worked for Boa. i mean, there doesn't have to be a major witch hunt here. because every post is about Boa coming from this person, i automatically start ignoring it and i hope that others would too.

but i still don't understand why they would deny it. and in the Danny Tenaglia thread, tell people to hold their questions for "boa-redux" because he himself is very busy when partyharlequin can answer the same questions.

holy fuck margs, it's over, don't worry about it.

Ok to settle things because this is getting into an entirely different territory.

I apologize for anything that may have been misleading, it wasn't intended to be. But as many of you are aware, rumour is a major factor in this industry, and people saying things that aren't true etc... (even if they think it is true) can have a serious impact on any given night. So as someone who works in this industry (Mind you only as of about a month ago) I'm always wary of people asking me questions about myself/the club/upcoming events.

Finally the reason the people at Boa asked me to work for them was because of what I was already saying about the club. I'm a fairly new partier as some of you know and I was awed by Boa, the way it was run, the security, the decor, the dedication to people having fun and I really really believed that this was something worth keeping around. So I made my point very clear right from the get go. I'd been going there since March and was talking about it nonstop for like 2 months.

They even told me the reason they wanted me was because they believed that I truly liked everything about the place and what they were trying to do and if I accepted the job for any reason other than having fun I shouldn't do it.

If the club had not approached me I can honestly guarantee that I would still be spouting out GO TO BOA like it was some fanatical mantra.

Just to let everyone know I stepped foot into my first club (Element Bar, may it rest in peace) at 12:00 am wednesday february 26th 2004 because my friend begged me to go out clubbing for the first time on my birthday. I'm not a promoter by trade nor did I ever contemplate getting such a job. They asked and yes was the only thing I could think of saying. I was and still am simply a dedicated (and articulate) fan.

So does anyone have anything else to say?

Note: I don't think McDonalds has anything to do with this lol

I honestly dont think that this is whats going on here though. Boa-Redux has been very respectful about promoting on this board, and has NOT tried to go out of their way to make other clubs look bad. The only thing i saw them bring up was the "boa black list" thing, and to me its something that should be discussed. I dont think that Noah (if hes employed by Boa) should continue to bash clubs the way he has been. To me theres a place for all of the major clubs (System, Guv & Boa) in Toronto, and theres no reason to try and make any of them look bad.

Hmm? Look at Tribe - they don't even allow signatures, period.

Swamper, I agree with you entirely about the fact that the event forum is a necessity, and helps keep the spamming and bumping and general abusing that promoters are famous for under control, and it was the recent glut of that (WITH THE PROMOTERS TYPING IN CAPS) which brought the event forum about.

Why can't a strip of text stating I am a promoter, and the clubname/logo simply be there. I agree that allowing pics or event advertising/listings there would leave it open to thread bumping and spam posting so ppl can see it, but I doubt the promters here would post to bump some faint text in their sigs. All the new rules and structure are a great way to keep things under control, but the vice is a little too tight. As much as there are money grubbing bastards out there, there are people who are a part of the scene for other reasons, and when it comes down to it, it's all one big circle that if done right and fairly, everyone benefits.

The rules are needed, but perhaps just a small compromise can be met is all I ask. We need a bit of breathing room.

No, the vice is not tight at all. A whole forum has been provided for promoters to promote their events. A guestlist infrastructure was developed so that the process of getting on a guestlist could be streamlined. The idea behind it is that it would be easy for both the user and promoter to receive requests with relative ease. Not to mention that it took months to program that whole section. The best part about this is that TA is currently providing this service to the dear promoter and club owner at NO COST.

Could you define what the 'other reasons' are?

Would you not say that the system that is currently in place on tranceaddict IS fair?
