2) Throwing a freaking party in a DJ Booth while Marco V was still finishing up his set.

3) Trying to fuck up sound for Mike and just running around the DJ booth, bothering Mike, after their set was over.

4) Their trip to the washroom(with a manager), for what appeared to be 'puking purposes' after the set.

5) One of the AP dudes picked up some chick(who I thought was with a b/f) and started making out with her in the corner of Kool Haus.

It probably doesn't sound as bad. Honestly you had to see it to understand what I mean. They are supposed to be professinals, and they acted like arrogant fools. I lost all my respect for them after this.

This sounds like every TA's dream night at a party to me.... sure you arent just jealous?

had a great nite! got to finally meet some TA's, sorry i dont remember all of your names, the only name i remember is sergio...

anyway, i stayed in KH the whole nite, other than walking thru the guv to the patio a few times. was it just me or was the eq'ing horribly off in the guv, it was soo distorted. good in KH tho. it was great to see marco v just two days after i saw him in buffalo, this time got to get a pic with him, my friend from buffalo, and a fellow TA im in back with the red camera eyes

i liked astrals set, but when i was on the side of the dj booth getting them to sign the flyer i realized how wasted they were.. im pretty sure they wrote 'we love you" "astral projection" on there, and some other stuff, but its pretty illegible lol. they were so drunk that they actually forgot that they had signed my flyer and then signed it again on the back, even messier.

loved mikes set too, stayed right to the end.

great time, KH wasnt too packed at all.

Anyways time for a proper review

Got to kool house around 10:30 to catch deep grooves set, and what a
treat i was in for, awsome job guys, hope you get to do these at
kool house more often super prowd of you guys.

Then came on Marco V, holly crappa molly, was he into his music going
nuts like there's no tomorrow, and his set was spectacular just like
everytime it was, for the first time i seen him, I skipped a gig
lol

Astrol Projection .... well like someone said they're not like infected
mushrooms. I stood by the booth for their whole said and they didn't
even bother touching one key of any of those keyboard, i mean
whats the point of them being there then. Well I like the kind of
music actually but they didn't really dig it. PLus the party in the
booth was quite annoying, everytime someone started dancing little
too hard the sound would cut anyways that's for that

and then long waited for push come on, starts too mellow for me, but
then just blows me away bomb after bomb, too bad i couldn't last
the whole night, my back was hurting me too much at that point, plus
i had to get to work in less then 2 hours so that was it for
the party for me.

It was nice too see a lot of friendly faces, and meet some new ones
Motion(Ken, btw thanks for the pic with marco v, I owe ya million
beers for that), and Redrum (Sorry I couldn't hear anything cause of
the loud sound so I never got your real name), and thank John again
you da man!!!!!!!

Anyway till the next crazy Party

Peace Love Unity

Marco V kicked some royal Canadain Ass

What can I say that hasnt been said. Marco V is undoubtably my number one DJ of all time. Everytime i Have seen him he thoroughly satisfies every need I have possible. I just felt his foot kicking my ass all over KH last night and when i felt like i was just about reday to slow down and take a break he just started to kick my ass even more. Had a sweet convo with him afterwards although it was a little short would have liked to talk more with him.

Mark T had a wicked time with you so glad you and I were on our own wavelength too bad the rest of da crew wasnt feeling it.

Astral Projection seemed a wee bit sketchy even before their set started, they were setting up and messed up one of Marco's mixes. It was great to see him turn around and give them an ear full. Way To Go Marco!!!

M.I.K.E.'s set was pretty good and i was getting right into it but the severe beating i took from Marco made it almost impossible to move.

All I want now is Marco V residency at GUv maybe monthly or bi monthly, that would possibly make me the happiest lil boy on the face of the earth.

Nice to see we're getting a healthy dose of the usual TA complain-fest.

I'll admit that Astral Projection seemed a little sketchy. And I didn't really get how what they did constituted a Live PA, but since I had assumed from the beginning that it was just a set and didn't find out until yesterday that it was going to be a PA anyway, it didn't really bother me. I'm not sure what the deal was with the keyboards - I kind of got the feeling they were having some technical difficulties up there? It looked like there were problems while they were hooking up. Or maybe they just didn't come prepared.

But you know, their set was pretty damn good as psytrance sets go, PA or no PA. And as for them drinking and one member picking up a girl, give me a FUCKING break! Tiesto's done far worse and people have cheered him on for it! Anyway, how the hell would anyone know if she had a boyfriend (lots of girls just come with "friends"), and even if she did, how does that reflect poorly on anyone but the girl herself? Holy shit boys, I know some of you don't realize this but it's called having a good time!

The champagne squirting, which as far as I know happened only once, I thought was pretty damn funny and a lot of the die-hard Astral fans at the front did too by virtue of the big smiles on their faces. Anyway, I saw Sarah getting into it as well as some other girl in blue (or maybe white, who the hell knows) who was hanging around with a lot of TAs, so it's nice to see that at least SOME people know how to have a good time.

For christ's sake - you bitch and moan all the time about DJs not interacting enough with the crowd, and when they do interact, you bitch and moan even more. These people aren't black-tie professional musicians, they're there to make a party happen. And while I wasn't too crazy about the way they interfered with the other DJ sets, I think you guys are just going apeshit over peanuts when it comes to the other stuff. As Special K said - they seem like fun guys to party with.

Having said that, even though AP was my reason for going, Marco V was definitely the highlight of the night. This wasn't the first time I've seen him but it was the first time I've seen him kick it hard in the real Marco V style I know. Ruthless, but not stupid - pounding, but not overpowering the real music behind the beats. This is what I call the true meaning of tech trance, and I sincerely hope he returns to Toronto very soon because I could never get tired of sets like that.

I wasn't feeling MIKE's set too much but I blame that on his timeslot. It's just too hard to get into uplifting trance after merciless tech trance and goa. I think only a techno set would have gotten me dancing again at that point in the night. Although, for those people who did *not* get into AP's set too much, it was probably a lot easier to get into MIKE's after the "break". Everybody's got to find their own groove I suppose, personally mine ended at about 5:15 am when I was getting sore and passing what remained of my energy drinks into the great Kool Haus Plumbing System.

Still I'd have to name this one of the highlights of this summer. I'm glad I didn't miss it.

P.S. Thanks to Chinaman for helping out with the entrance.

Alright well first of all they wrote a lot of shit in hebrew...and I speak hebrew and read it flewently and I can't make out what they wrote at all... They must have REALLY been wasted...when I finish de-cyphering this i'll let you know...you have a larger version of this???

That's uncalled for. I've seen exactly the same bullshit from every other ethnic group when a DJ from their country comes over. Who are you to say that because they support their country they don't also support the DJ(s) and enjoy the music? Honestly, I thought they were obnoxious and they pissed me off several times, but far be it from me to say they weren't enjoying the show AP put on.

It's not like there's no Dutch flags during Tiesto or Ferry, or German flags during PVD...although sometimes it's a bit excessive, it's really no big deal...

yea i knew that the bottom part was hebrew, since i dont know how to read hebrew i wasnt sure if that was legible or not, but the top in english certainly wasnt... i would love to know what it says if you can figure it out... but if its as legible as the english they wrote, then good luck

heres a link to the full size pic, i wont image it here cause it would make a mess of this page:

link

btw for those that i met, my name is brett, i really suck at remembering names, especially from a loud club being there all nite, so id like to know who you all are

i think its just a common thing everywhere, especially if its from a smaller town/city/county, people feel like they have a connection with someone from their home place, especially if that place is more... for the lack of a better word unique.. like people in the US who are from texas seem to automatically be friends, just cause their from the same state

whether they were there for the music or the country isnt my place to say, and im sure depends on the person.

dont mind my double posting i havent had a chance to sleep yet

I totally disagree -- TAs are the ones who usually praise the DJ for even the shittiest of sets *cough* tiesto *cough* paul van dyk

Those were the two worst sets I've heard and the most unconfortable party environments (way beyond capacity with people constantly cutitng through the crowd and bumping into you)

I think it's good that we finally realize how shitty a "Live PA" was for once (AP).

Where the hell were you that night? Two weeks before at Sasha in the Guv was uncomfortable - yesterday night at the Koolhaus was not only under capacity but actually quite roomy, I'd say. I hardly had a single person bump into me that night and believe me, I'm *very quick* to anger when that kind of thing happens too much.

AP's performance was lacking but exactly what was wrong with their set? And no offense, but just exactly who on TA do you know so well to be able to make general assessments of how we act? Have you even met a single one of us?

Actually now that I just noticed this comment from you:
quote:
Most people at the front were going insane simply due to the fact that they were jewish; deep down inside I bet they didn't even like the music either -- I mean, how can you?

I realize what this is all about. Pathetic - it's fine if you didn't like their set, but for future reference, try to keep your attitude in check when it comes to the "other" issues.

first off, for all you tight asses who get pissed because astral were drinking, you guys are losers! durafei, stop beating around the bush and explain to us all, in words we can understand what exactly they did that was "unforgivable". as far as i can remember (and i didnt have a drop of alcohol in my system), their set was great, and the drinking made it all more enjoyable, and felt like they were tripping along with us. durafei, i have a few coffee shops you can check out where drinking is completely prohibited, for example i hear the second cup on church and college is quite fine. i hear fridays are good. in addition, for all of yous who dont have the guts to describe whatever it is you want to, astral projection have provided us with a perfect example of israeli party culture, hense, the reason eilat, israel is tiesto's favorite place to dj. people like durafei is one of the reasons djs dont come to toronto more often.

and now for the mike review...
mike is the devine representative of music on earth. sunrise at palamos, holy crap... live another life, holy shit... strange world, HOLY FUCK... those were my exact thoughts. marco v also laid down the proper shit and reved up the crowd.

ps. durafei, consider changing your name

yeaaa, so you clearly didn't read what I said or simply didn't understand. Lets try again -- I was saying that Tiesto and PVD were packed.

What exactly are you trying to say?? You're not making any sense at all. "-- I mean, how can you?", so you don't like psy trance, that doesn't mean others don't like it.

dood.. what the hell is your problem? Durafei was just presenting the facts. I agree with him because I saw most of what happened in the DJ booth as well. Why do you feel the need to personally attack one of TOTA's oldest members... and in your very 1st post mind you. Talk about starting off on the wrong foot.

damnnnnnn I'm getting sick again.

Once again thanks to all those who came out to US5, and especially those NY & DC TAz who made that long tripp to Toronto. You guys are fun bunch to hang and talk too! Hopefully soon, I can make a tripp to you cities to party it up!

Next up ... the Hienken Thrist Tour with, Mark Oliver, Thrist winner and our special guests, Scum Frog, Pete Tong & Danny Howell.

I'm making lots of sense. I'm trying to say that I think psytrance is complete shit, and many would agree with me... thus why koolhaus cleared out when AP were playing.
