I get that too but it doesn't worry me too much. We've got a cat here that just sheds and sheds and sheds, it's almost surreal that it hasn't gone bald yet. I think it's just that when you wash your hair, especially if it's really long and thick, it gets tangled and you put a lot of stress on it so you just end up yanking a ton of it out. Chances are those hairs get replaced very quickly though.

I think the only real signs of baldness are either bald spots or the typical "receding" hairline. Shedding could mean anything.

DHT dilywhatevertostosterone is responsible for hairloss.

They also say people who beat off allot or are sexually active have more DHT. When testosterone is burned by "climaxing", it turns into DHT. Some people have reported Grape seed extract to regrow hair.

Save this post and re-read it if you go start balding before 30.

What are the possible side effects of finasteride?
 Stop taking finasteride and seek emergency medical attention if you experience an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives).
 Other, less serious side effects have been reported but usually resolve with continued treatment. Continue to take finasteride and notify your doctor if you experience
 decreased libido (sex drive);
 decreased volume of ejaculate;
 impotence (trouble getting or keeping an erection); or
 breast tenderness or enlargement.
 Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.

Roughly the same side effects were expereienced by the placebo group.

Posted by bass drive on Aug-12-2004 17:20:

from what I know, the hair goes into a regeneration period every ??? years, so it's normal to loss some hair at certain points, and regrow new ones after a couple of month (??)

I am 20 so no problems yet. I hope it stays that way, because my hair texture is fine

Maybe...

I am not balding and have never been balding - but I'm all about prevention and "better living through chemistry".
