I listened to alot of Metallica and Rage Against the Machine before and rock bands nowadays just arent that good anymore.Trance and Hard Trance gives me the same high I had when I listened to those old rock bands.A good Trance song with melody and some kick you in the ass Bass is just like a metallica solo.

I love it so much because I understand it..appreciate it...I could listen to it all day and not be tired of it..

A lot of trance effects you deep in the soul, its not just about going mad and enjoying yourself. It touches you somwhere only something special can. A lot of lyrics are really well written into trance aswell, and reflecting upon them, you realise that song is about "you" or what. Trance is a way of life, or an escape from life, but trance defintly is part of my life.

if you are weird you will like psy/goa
if you like rhythm you will like techno
if you like soul you will like house
if you like melody you will like trance

so many genres to go...

i like this question...because its something i always think about.

i think it has something to do with how much variety there is of our kind of music. And how a well put together track can give you that awsome feeling, where you just want to go to a club and dance the day/night away. For me, whenever i hear a good song, i visualize myself partying somewhere extremely fun, and get anxious about the next event im going to.

Thats pretty much the best description, whatever, I've ever heard.

Trance is from out of this world, and I love it !!

Posted by nwopper on Oct-16-2004 19:07:

When you hear trance you think is good, you'll start your quest to find even BETTER tracks.... And than you think you find the better track, but still a voice in your head says 'At this moment a producer in this world is making the best, perfect piece of trance you will ever hear'... And than the quest starts again... It's a sort of loop....

It gets even better when you add trance's effect on parties...there's no other music where you can loose yourself in that much as in trance!

trance music defines what my life is.
i guess everyone agrees that music = life.

Invisible Grin . . . . . .

Yeah,

Nyana is pretty great...
On your other comment, I think this type of music attracts a certain personality-type- people who get bored easily with things that are mundane... And so much music is mundane.

I've been wondering about this for a while. Why are people that listen to trance, so much more addicted to the music than people who listen to other types of music?

I mean I wake up in the morning with my radio alarm clock playing the nyana cd, then I listen to trance in the shower to wake up, while going to school, while studying, during sex, while reading, driving, etc... just all the time.

I honestly never saw anyone listen to this much music who likes another style, except maybe for musicians. (and even then)

hahahaha dude thats soo me, i'm always listening to trance. specially when doing my math or physics hw, and if i dont listen to armin atleast once a day i feel kinda weird

I listen to musci 24/7 as well.... once I would've gone more than 24 hours straight (music playing while I slept)...

I know heaps of people who love their music just like us... they're into rock and hip-hop... People have to be able to connect to the music... Old-sSchool hip-hop connected to the blacks... Hip-Hop is like the OPPOSITE of trance, it's no music/melody, it's just pure lyrics... and even the lyricists have shit voices... but urban blacks loved it, because the lyrics were somethign they could relate to....

Umm... I have a friend who was into Rage against the machine, and other non-commercial rock etc.... He's getting into trance now ( i lent him an album for a year, and he finally got used to it)

The reason why trance hits hard is becasue it is designed purely to hit the heart.... It doesn't make much of statement, or pose a question.... It just manipulates the emotions.... that's purely what it's designed to do when it's being made... When u describe a track... a lot of people do it by describing their emotions...

The reason why so many people aren't into it, is because it takes so god damned long to get used to... U have to sit their and get used to the repition... No-one is gonna sit there and put up with that, unless they're used to it... You can tell them all u want how good it is but they have no reason to sit their and actually listen to an album... Even if u MAKE them listen.... they're gonna listen to it thinking "THIS IS SHIT, IT'S GIVING ME A HEADACHE, IT'S SO REPETITIVE... THIS IS SHIT, IT'S JUST THE SAME THING... IT'S MAKING ME DIZZY... THIS IS HORRIBLE, IT SUX..."... when u start out listening to Trance, u have to TRY to enjoy it, and feel the music....

I dont really know why actually. Before I listened to EDM(4 years ago)I barely listened to music at all. I owned a total of 3 CD's, The Matrix soundtrack, Jay-Z, and Bonethugs. Now ever since I started listening ive aquired hundreds of CD's.

Last time i checked you aren't automatically cool or accepted if you listen to Trance , at least thats how it is where I'm at. I remain a beacon among the House and Rnb addicts around me.

It's getting in...

It's becoming cool... becuase it's COOL to be seen in a car with 12'' subs blaring on 1000W Fusion Amps, and with Kicker Subs...
wiith a BRROOO....*DOOF....*DOOF....*DOOF....OOOOMMM>.... sound as u drive past

It's becoming cool becasue going out clubbing and dancing, is seen as a better social life for a person (fair 'nuff... but as long as u like the music)...

It's becoming cool....... And that's why here in Asutralia Free-to-air TV plays SHIT, COmmercial DANCE.. (little trance),,, interestingly, they played Tiesto's stuff sometimes...

Pity most people go for the commercial crap, becasue they just want to be cool, and have no idea what GOOD TRANCE is... seriously.. it's fucking up the music.... everything is gonna get mixed up.. and people will get shit impressions of trance....

Me too...
It's difficult to explain why the addiction in words. It's all about the feelings, emotions & energy

Posted by Rick D on Oct-17-2004 12:47:

i think i got used to the repetetiveness so easily because the first track i ever remember liking was 2 unlimited - no limit, and that was so repetitive that anything else seems to have quite a bit of variation (except Paul Johnson - Get Down), Don't really remember being into music before that
