I love my sleep so:

39 hours

Woke up 6am for bus to Toronto.

Nu-NRG @ Viva 10pm - 7am

Shopping in Toronto till 4pm

Bus left Toronto at 4:30pm

Get to Collingwood @ 7:30pm

Go home, have dinner

Sleep @ 9pm

I only need 6 hours, tops...I used to sleep a lot when i was lazy, but i just can't any more. I woke up at 9 on saturday and sunday this past weekend. That's like unheard of for me, but I guess hitting the gym and not smoking pot every night gives me more energy and I love it...I hate sleeping now.

But in reference to the actual question on topic, 3 days is the longest I've stayed up...not sober. Sleep is for the weak

Red face

god I love sleeping, I can't (and don't) get enough of it

Posted by Slylee on Aug-16-2004 17:48:

i'm telling you, i used to be that way too...i was very lazy and out of shape and i lived for the weekends so i could sleep till 1 or even 2 sometimes. i started working out regularly and i quit smoking pot, and now i'm full of energy. it's a great feeling and it can happen to anyone...you just have to observe your lifestyle and habits and make the necessary changes, it's the exercising that does it.

I know the feeling. Usually I need at least seven hours. But when clubbing I tend to stay awake for 40 hours or so.

"the kissing disease"

Posted by Slylee on Aug-16-2004 18:15:

lol yea, mono from "not sleeping". don't lie.

i actually had it in 9th grade...i know exactly how i got it too, and it wasn't from kissing, but from sharing a drink w/ my girlfriend who had just had it and was recovering...she didn't tell me she had it. i didn't find out until 2 weeks later when she casually was like, "oh yea, i just had mono it sucks"! i was like hmmm, thanks for letting me know when we were sharing a drink. i was sick for like 4 weeks straight with that crap, it was horrible.

I think its the other way around, unhealthy people need less sleep than healthy people. If you exercise regularly you need more sleep than someone who does not. Unhealthy people can survive without sleep better than healthy people.

72 hours , in assembly 2001 lan party. I was kinda angry after the time, 72 hours is waay too much to stay awake if you ask me...

not really. if you sleep more than 8 hours a day, and dont exercise, then YOU are the unhealthy person, if comparing to someone who does exercise and needs less sleep. by saying, "Unhealthy people who need less sleep"...are you talking about people who are insomniacs?? if so, well then, yea, that's unhealthy. but someone who only needs about 6-7 hours of sleep each night and has an active life (like exercising), is not unhealthy at all. as you get older (over 30), you start to need more sleep and it becomes healthier to have at least 8 hours a night. but when you're young, you should only need like 6-7 tops. young people who sleep too much are more prone to depression and poor eating habits.

u can get mono from getting too exahested (cant spell) my body got 2 fatigued and then i got mono

EDIT

or someone who is smart it might not be mono but it was something like it from fatigue

Posted by Slylee on Aug-16-2004 19:38:

you don't just all of a sudden catch a virus out of nowhere...it's a viral infection, meaning you "catch" it from an infected person through direct contact/injestion of their saliva or blood (depending on the virus). that's like people saying, "oh put a jacket on you'll catch a cold". that's the dumbest myth out there. you don't just get a cold from being cold. being too cold/wet only lowers your immune system making it easier to catch a cold from someone who has a cold.

anyway got this from a website...
quote:

Mononucleosis is an illness caused by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), a member of the herpesvirus family. Similar symptoms and illness are sometimes caused by cytomegalovirus, which is also a member of this family of viruses.

EBV is transmitted through the saliva. Young children can be infected from the saliva of playmates or family members. Adolescents with the virus can spread EBV through kissing (hence its once popular name, "the kissing disease"). Epidemic outbreaks in hospitals and workplaces have occurred.

Nah, I'm nice now compared to after that party 2 week period.

I was a total mess after 10 days up though, you wouldn't have believed how bad.

My 21st birthday that went for a couple of days was the longest ever.

Woke up on Friday, 6:45am - went to work, after work celebrated my birthday with friends. Went out into the city to eat and then came back to a friends house and just drank and stuff until Sunday morning 3am. [about 44 hours all up]
I found it harlious that on Saturday morning, around 8am - we rang the liquir shop to see if they were open - no one picked up the phone, so we drove to the place and parked there until they did open.

91 hours.

9am 12/31/03 - 4:00am 1/4/04

Posted by idoru on Aug-17-2004 09:34:

1.5 days. I'm a wuss.

Perhaps I should pick up some Bawls and spend the next couple of days awake. Hell, I'll be asleep all next week after getting my wisdom teeth pulled.
