Anyways, until you see a game of Boca Juniors vs. River Plate you wont know what playing soccer with passion is..Best games ever are from those teams. Usually the stadium will be full and going crazy when these teams play against each other. They put alot of feeling into it both fans and players.

I've been playing it for 12 years (since i was 7) and following for pretty much that whole time. It is an awesome sport to play, to watch and to support.

I watch the English Premier League religously and the Champions league as well. I always get into the big tournaments like Euro, and of course, the world cup (the greatest sporting event on the planet IMO). My brother and I are going to go to the enxt world cup in Germany in 2006 for sure.

If you don't like football, then all i can say to you is:

you're missing out!!!!

In a Canadian born person's mind, Hockey is life and that's why we hate to lose at anything, hope Canada does not lose a single world cup of hockey game cuz I'm going postal if we do.

I play football very well, Coup likes to brag, he is so great at it, I'd tear him a new one.

the only sports that I cannot stand watching are Cricket (too long, tho I played it once and had fun), Curling (not a sport people), Field HOckey (not a sport), figure skating (not a sport). True Hockey fans hate figure skating in this country and true figure skating fans hate hockey...my cousins are those people. I don't get people like MIkey mike and others trashing American Football and Hockey as wuss sports because they wear padding. In Hockey, you wear padding to keep you from getting killed. See an english friend of mine say why wear a jock in Hockey, I said to protect you from getting hit in the nuts with a 100mph slapshot. I think most sports that are played at a high level are difficult to compete in for us normal folks. I like rugby, I loved playing it. The sport that I'm liking more is Aussie Rules Football, where some fool kicks a goal and two men in white suits and white hats uses flags. I think that it is easy to criticize sports and say they are easy but most englishmen would get murdered playing ice hockey (which I played 13 yrs). I hated diving for yrs and then Emilie Heymans was in the olympics, the left girl on my sig and I watched that. Weightlifting was fun to watch, watching these fat mofos pick up these massive weights and most were on roids anyway.

thread poster is wrong, football isn't a sport, it's a religion. it's silly comparing football to sport, sport isn't even in the same league as football

No, thats not what i asked. I want to know why u think the team are scum like u said they were. If u had said "some man utd fans are scum" i would have to agree, as would most of the real man utd supporters i think. But then, as u should know, that goes for all big clubs so its not fair to single man utd out. If u really do believe united has no real support then that suggests a pretty major lack of knowledge on ur part.

Not totally true about Ice Hockey in England. I dont follow ice hockey but i know that Nottingham Panthers and Sheffield Stealers are pretty decente. It isnt in top 3 most loved sports in Uk so it isnt that popular, and not that much money is pumped into it. THe level we play at is at a very low level compared to Canadians and USA probably. I dont think most englishman would get murdered playing Hockey lol because most wont go on the ice to skate:P i know i cant skate, though iv tried

Soccer, and I'll call it football when real football does not exist anymore, is boring as hell to try and watch, all that happens is the ball is kicked from one end of the ground to the other... and maybe of you are lucky there might be 2 or 3 goals. (I remember a game I tried to watch in which there was ZERO score... wtf!)

And another thing, some one gets tapped in the back "OMG I'VE BEEN ATTACKED,,, AHH I'M ON THE GROUND IN SO MUCH PAIN, OH THE HUMANITY"



This is the only thing I enjoy about soccer, watching those pussies winging about how they were horribly attacked, I've seen slow-mo replays where there was not more than a finger in it.. and they fell on the ground clutching their ankle or what have you.

Real football is a man's sport, get cruched, shoulder dislocated,,, put it back in, on with the game. I'd like to see one of your nancy boys do that.

Haha. My grandmother married a canadian guy. I visited them in B.C. At the dinner table with his family they asked if I followed Hockey. When I said no they all looked at me with the same look. A look that said I just didn't belong. I think they thought I was gay.

if there's one thing that bothers me is north-americans bashing football/soccer, especially when saying it is "not emotive", "lacks violence" , "lacks strategy"

anyone to each own, enjoy your stupid baseball and football with hands, while we enjoy good interesting sport
