Sneaker Pimp

Just wanted to bump this. One more week...I can't wait. It is a shame that Hybrid was postponed. I was really looking forward to them one night, then Zabiela the next. Oh well. Any particular tracks people are hoping Zabs plays??? I know I will be hoping for
Weekend World - Straight out of stokey

I'd sure like to hear Ficta - Eli and most definitely see him put together the "Enjoy the Wavy Gravy" mix live

Just a couple more days

Everyday closer makes it harder to sleep at night. I just recently got a 6 hour set from him and Sasha at Pacha(2004-8-5). He plays the first two and a half hours, then Sasha for two and a half. The last hour is them back to back. This set is almost as good as the one he put on at SKY back in April

Damnit! Club One is specifically a Gay / Lesbian club. I really don't feel like getting hit on (and it always happens). I want to see Zabiela really bad so this is a huge decision. Maybe I will try and take a date with me - although the girls I go out with hate EDM. Anyone else have a suggestion?

Is there a dress code there? If not, then don't dress up so metrosexually I say. I'm going to be there, regardless of the gay people. It's Zabiela, man.

I think its casual. I know I am just wearing jeans and a tshirt. I hear it gets hot in there

Posted by DeviantxPete on Sep-30-2004 04:36:

Perhaps we should have a meetup before the show? I have no idea what you guys look like. Don't worry, I'm straight

Posted by hprelude01 on Sep-30-2004 04:40:

I am straight as well. I am already meeting up with some peeps from another board. A friend of mine wants to hit up insomnia for the after hours. I don't think I will be heading there....they won't have anyone better than Zabiela...so no point in going. Has anyone ever been to insomnia?? What is it like?

Posted by D Dubya on Sep-30-2004 04:46:

I won't be able to meet up early because there is a private party I am going to at the Eight Lounge. If anyone wants an invitation, let me know. I have 3 invitations, but I just need 2. So, someone can have the third one which is good for them and a guest. Let me know if anyone wants it. Also, whoever does want to meet up at the show, I can let yall know what I am wearing or give you my cell number

bro you aint the only one...it even happens to me at the supposedly straight clubs. I'm not homophobic but that shit gets old quick.

One of these days Im probably gonna end up with a few assault charges

but its cool...

Posted by SID133 on Sep-30-2004 15:15:

dawm completely forgot that it was this weekend what time do you think it will be over i might go and then leave early my roommates are haveing a party that saturday if its still going on when i leave club one anyone is welcome to go

as far as the gay people at the club hey it could be worse just smile and say not interested

....im straight by the way

Posted by Matthias on Sep-30-2004 15:43:

lol, I dont want to give people the wrong idea. Just because I was in the Marines, and only date women, doesnt necessary mean I hate gays. I'm only pointing this out cuz some have the idea I do. Its about respect. I can tolerate the unknowing dude who asks whether I am gay or straight cuz he didnt know better. Dude's who come up and say shit like "hey man...I really think you're hot!!" ..I really dont like shit, but I try to be polite when I tell em off, depending on my mood.

Should any dude ever come up and touch, grabass or any of that crap...it will come to blows, and I would remind I was a Marine CCI (close combat instructor) for the platoon I was in.

Just saying...its about respect. If I can refrain myself from chasing emily and brice all around the club, queerfolk should be able to show the same respect.

for a relevant response to this thread... I wish I had sat night off to make it out to this event. Been since April since Ive been up there.

Does club blue still throw events?? I really liked that place when I went up there august of 2003...

Posted by D Dubya on Sep-30-2004 17:38:

I think Blue is making a strong effort in the "we support the ghettoness" movement. Wouldn't expect much out of that place anymore.

yeah sounds like Club Hush down here. Its a shame when clubs decide to sell out to what's trendy rather than hosts events that actually bring talent. Guess some care more for capitalism than the music...

Posted by D Dubya on Sep-30-2004 19:04:

I heard Hush was awesome when it opened. Real upscale and nice - I love that. But when they start letting the thugs in and start only playing rap then I have to go somewhere else. I guess I won't blame them for trying to turn a profit, but damn it sucks

Getting back on topic....

I will be there along with about 6 friends or so. We are coming up from San Antonio. How can you leave at 1AM?? At least wait until Zabiela is done. I hope to god he plays longer than 2 hours =)

Posted by DeviantxPete on Oct-01-2004 00:08:

4. I'll be there. Just look for a Korean in a T-shirt and cargo khakis.
