Dres and Debo at Rise after Gabriel and Dresden at Avalon. If that's not a sick lineup, then I don't know what is.
Also, for future reference, they opened the doors early at 9:30 last friday for PvD (no joke, I got there at like 9:15 thinking I was going to have to wait around for at least 45 minutes to get in), so take that as the definition of getting there "early".
9:30 on PvD nights is the guarantee to get in without problems. 11 PM in Boston is just asking for trouble
ps. I still totally feel for anyway who got screwed out of getting in. Avalon does things kinda sneakily and disorganized on these big nights, ie. forming like 3 or 4 lines on the whims of individual bouncers not communicating with each other, raising the price throughout the night, etc. Just get there at 9:30 next time and avoid ALL the hassle.
Yeah, lesson learned =P
I've already seen G&D so I'm not going to be at Avalon for that, but maybe I'll come out to Rise one of these weeks when I have some spare cash, I'd really like to see Porter.
