WOW....so worth trip from NYC the peak off my night was the in my memory dub...2nd best tiesto set i've ever heard live behind WMC which has to be one of his top 10 ever....wasn'rt crazy about Cnetral Park...i realized that NYC can't compare to the energy Miami brings when it comes to trance...Space is the Trance mecca of this side of the world hands down if anyone else dosen't agree give me input.....and bayfront fuc*king rocked i actually really enjoyed cedric gervais set alot and tiesto's was a crowd pleaser......

Posted by Mattivi on Sep-27-2004 01:56:

wow.....where do i begin.. ryan, rach, and trancebrat summed up alot of my feelings. i kinda of went into the nite not expecting a whole lot, but PRAYING for a magik muzik nite-type experience(and i got it) and even tho this one was half as long, if he would of kept going at that pace it would have surpassed it. the set structure was just so fluid one track just beautiful melded into the next, seemless mixing, which just confirms that when tiesto is on his game, he's a great mixer. im like trancebrat , i dont like alot of vocals, a few here and there, and he just played so many phat instrumentals, and the great thing about them is that you never heard of them before, that tiesto element of surprise, he always seems to have tracks that nobody else has(i would say i recogized like 30-40% of the tracks, push-journey of life--OMFG!). the energy was off the charts too, i never felt so alive, i danced all nite. i was having so much fun partying with ryan, rach, trancebrat and bro, drdave, beamon, miriam, bling, and others, i was smiling so much it hurt. the set just kept getting better and better as it went on, we just kept looking at each other saying "is he out of mind?!!" and i kept asking amber "who's your favorite dj?!", it was fun. and what made it even better was he was so animated and having so much fun, spinning vinyls like frisbys on his finger, pulling the horn, and flashing that great smile of his allnight. i think he was just so into the crowd(21+, not overly crowded, kryo in full effect), he just fed off it, and you knew you where having that unparalleled magik experience, he knew it too, it was beautiful. its a shame a lot of you ta's wrote him off, left after edgar or didnt come, because this performance IS WHAT A TRANCE LIVESET EVENT IS ALL ABOUT, thats definitive. put him in the right enviroment, like space(21+), and its all over with, legendary performances like that is why he is a trance god and number one dj in the world. i guess if i could change one thing about the night it would have been i wished it had been longer, it ended kinda of abruptly, i think his manager stopped him(im sure he wanted to keep spinning), with the hurricane looming and all, i think they wanted to get the hell out of dodge, thats my theory. anyways i am just happy to have been apart of such a special event, im still glowing from the event, i cant get it out of my head, only tiesto does that to me...my brother wore a custom shirt he made there that said TIESTO...oops MUSIC IS THE ANSWER, so fitting and true.

Am I sure? Noo.... But I think it was Fever. I'll have to dig up Any Given Day and see if I recall it.

Here is my review. I suck at song I.D.s thats why you never hear me commenting about it. I'm more about dancing and being with friends and the experience. I posted this on a different site. Its going to be long, but I think it will entertain you...ready...here it goes....

O.k., so finally, it is the day all us party kids and club kids have been waiting for....Tiesto in concert. For those of you who are not familiar with this artist, he is a super famous techno dj from Europe and his popularity has gone through the roof within the last couple of years. He has been voted the .1 DJ in the world. But enough about that. Back to my story.

To be honest, I wasn't going to go to either one of these events because I couldn't afford it, but an aquaintance offered to buy my ticket to the event, so how am I suppose to turn down two free tickets? So, after work on Friday, I hauled ass down to Miami to go meet up with him so we can go to the show. He went to run some errands by the time I got there, so I was a little annoyed he wasn't ready. Whatever. I went up to his office and got ready myself. By the time he did show up and he got ready and all that crap, we were like 2 1/2 hours late for the show. We drive over to Bayfront park and have to wait in the long ass line for Will Call. We get our tickets but when we get to the gates, they made me go back to my car to drop off my camera. Sucks.

Tony (the guy who bought the tickets) walked with me to my car and he started talking about going to Space afterwards. To my horror, he didn't buy the tickets online like he said he did. Now you have to understand that a big DJ like that comes to town, the only way you are getting into that club is if you buy your tickets in advance online. Tony is new to the club scene, so he doesn't really know the ropes, but at that moment I could have stranggled him. I tried to explain to him that in the future, get everything prepared in advance so that its nothing but smooth sailing the day of the event. Whatever, I calmed down and told him that we will worry about going to Space later. Right now lets enjoy the outdoor concert. We get in there and ther is a huge crowd of people. Not as massive as when Ultra comes to town, but I nice size of people. My friend Karloz is desperately calling on the phone trying to find out where I am in the ocean of people. I end up running into almost everyone I know except Karloz. Finally, I give up and think to myself, "I will run into him eventually, so let me chill out and enjoy my night."

Tony got lost in the crowd somewhere, which was cool because I wanted to be alone for a little while anyways. So I am there dancing, the crowd is screaming and going nuts. I hear someone scream my name behind me, and SURPRISE, it was the long lost Karloz! I was re-united with my party buddy, so I was super happy. So I was having an awesome time just dancing with everyone. With the energy of the people, the crazy visuals, the sound, it was awesome. I love those moments when you look over at the crowd all you can see is smiles and happiness on their faces. Everyone is there for the same reason and everyone begins to move in unison. Its totally breathe taking. The show ended at 12 and the real party was about to go down at SPACE...

I told Karloz the situation with the tickets and not being able to go to SPACE, but we both agreed that there is no ifs, ands, or buts about it...I AM going to SPACE. So when we get out of the concert, I find Tony and tell him we need to buy tickets from someone. He says he is totally down and doesn't care how much he has to pay. As we are walking to the car, Karloz and I are frantically screaming out, "Does anyone have tickets they want to sell? Money is NOT and object."
We get to my car and I am starting to feel a little nervous that we won't find anyone who will give them up. finally, I see a group of guys smoking by where we had parked and I go up to them and ask them if they would be willing to sell their tickets. They looked interested so I asked them how much they wanted them for. "$100 each." Bitch, you must be out of your damn mind! I told them $150 for both and they agreed. I know what you are thinking...you would NOT pay that much to see some dj spin, and to be honest neither would I, but Tony was determined to party it up, so he bought both of our tickets.

So its Karloz, Tony and I heading over to the club and we get in with no problem. I was a little nervous because I was using my sister's I.D. and I also had a long white wig on so it totally seemed like they wouldn't find the I.D. convincing...but they didn't even look twice...they let me in. Karloz also got in with his freakin I.D. from Columbia..."Oh I lost my I.D. the other night at Voodoo Lounge.." Karloz, that line is going to start getting old....

Anyways, we get in there and the place is PACKED!!! Immediately We all squeeze our way to the dance floor. Karloz disappeared and did his thing and I was trying to encourge Tony to do the same thing. Sigh* rookies....they have so much to learn about the club scene. He actually really pissed me of that night because he slapped my ass while I was bending over to fix the straps on my shoe. Now, for anyone who knows me or made the mistake of slapping my butt, you know I get crazy angry and will sock you in your fucking face for being so disrespectful. Not only that, but this is the first time I am officially hanging out with this guy, so its not like we are even good buddies and can laugh about. Shit, even Karloz has never done anything stupid like that and he is my best friend! So I turn around slowly and all I am seeing is red. I get in his face and tell him, "Don't you EVER slap or grab my ass...EVER! I don't like men touching me like that, so keep your hands away from me! I can't fucking stand that and I WILL hit you if you do it again." he pissed me off even further when he said, "Well, when my brother's wife bends over like that , she is just asking to get her ass slapped." Ummm news flash, fuck face, I am not your brother's wife so you better watch the fuck out or else I will stab your ass! Not really, but I might punch you.

So now I am irritated and I just walk away. Tony starts to follow me, but I lose him in the crowd. I need some time to cool off. So I am doing my best to dance in the extremely limited amount of dance space that was available and I start flirting and dancing with guys and girls (Its all the same to me) and enjoying myself. I ran into my friend Danny (Bling), John and his b/f (you looked so hot!), and some other people from the meaasage boards that I always see when I go out. I also got bit on the arm by this dude that was totally fucked beyond his mind, but I pushed him and asked what the fuck was wrong with him. Shit, how many people go out and bite you when you are dancing? At one point Karloz comes up to me to tell me they opened up the patio upstairs, so we go since there would actually be room to dance and breathe. We go up there to cool off and sit down. We both exchange a glance that shows total exhaustion, but being the crazy people we are, we know we are pulling an all nighter. So, the rest of the night is filled with dancing and more dancing. It was crazy! The crowd was eating up every song that Tiesto was throwing at them!

Tony comes up to me and tells me his getting really tired and wants to go home. Yes, I got a little irritated because I suggested he bring his car just in case he wanted to leave early....just what I thought would happen did, but then again it was 6:30 a.m. So I can understand. So he asks if he can wait in the car for me as I look for Karloz, but I don't give out my keys to ANYONE especially if I don't know you. I tell him to give me 20 min while I look for Karloz and for him to stay in one spot. He says he is going to me in the next room sitting down. Cool, I'll be right back. So, I go all over the place looking for Karloz, asking around if anyone has seen him. finally I see him dancing his ass off along with his friend Tom. I grab him and tell him the party is over, we have to go home. We both walk downstairs to get Tony and I don't see him where he said he was gonna be. I figured he went back out on the dancefloor for a little longer....nope, not there. I tell Karloz to stay put while I look for him. I spent almost an hour and a half looking for this guy. Finally I think to myslef, "He probably went to my car." So I go to the bouncer and explain the situation. He says I can go look for my friend and come back without having to pay re-admission. I walk 2 1/2 blocks over and sure enough, there is Tony sprawled out across the hood of my car passed out. "Tony! I have been looking everywhere for you! I thought you were going to be in the next room!" He mummbled something, but I opened the door and let him in. "Stay here, I am going to get Karloz."

I walk back to the club and go get Karloz. He is nowhere to be found. Again, I go looking all over the place for him but to no avail. Finally, I am about to give up and I see him standing by the main entrance up against the wall. Soo, Karloz got his stuff out of my car of rode off home on his motorcycle. I had to drop off Tony and I was in desperate need of a shower. I took a shower at his place and crashed on his couch for an hour and a half. After that I woke up and went to downtown Miami buy some things I was going to need for my trip to Cali this Friday. After that I had to go to my sister's to help out with wedding stuff. I took short naps here and there, but nothing I would call sleep. Finally, I was able to go home and I passed out at midnight.

So now its Monday and I am at work. My immune system is totally fucked since I stayed up so many hours without sleep, so now I am sick. Karloz got sick too. The lesson in all of this? Party with moderation! It is not normal to party from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. the next day.

I found Any Given Day on DJ Santana's July Mix Pt 2 (ha ha - a little plug for him! ). I seem to recall it, but I'm also reasonably certain Tiesto spun Fever too. So let's just say he did both

I found a house with power!!!! So now I can say this... hehehehehe!!!! Verwest for president 2004. That's all we need... if everyone could experience magik like Friday night, everything would be right. My fellow Tiest-Hoes... we are a truly blessed group of molecules to experience music like that ! Hurricane Jeanne was creaping towards us, but Tijs beat the storm to it and blew Space's roof off. Again. I was seriously almost paralyzed by his set at Space34, and I still can barely talk about it. I swear, Tijs was having the time of his life too. I have never seen him laughing, smiling, and goofing off as much as he did Friday. He was rocking that stupid, dope mix so well... his mixing was absolute mint, and the tracks were so fresh... not many ID's this time. Perfect. Dropped Corsten-Sweet Sorrow and Push-Journey of Life (not U.N.) and Love Song.... unreal !! The fog was So cold, the horn was so loud, system was on point, Magik was in the air people. Ryan, Neil, Rach... We know... this night owns us . Thank you guys, I have too much fun partying with you. Tijs Verwest is on fire. I want more !! Brian, Holland is going to be rediculous, trust me. I'm spent, I can't share anymore from this except, Music Is The Answer.

Dancing, helping a bad back... well, at least as the time... the next morning was another story.

Heh...Arturo left right when Tiesto came on.

Yes, Armada wants to sign it. What you heard is not the same as the actual artist saying that it has been signed to Armada. Sometimes things should be kept hush hush until a final word comes from the artist...even if you think you know something. If not that is how rumors get started and it could potentially ruin the track signing with the other label (if that is what the artist had decided to do). As of right now no decision has been made.
