Is it just me or does Radiohead - Street Spirt (Tiesto Mix) sound a bit like Sarah McLaughlan - World on Fire (Junkie XL Mix)?

PLUS tiesto's came first so stop trying to flame the guy.

Hmm, for some reason the Chemical sample of Street Spirit sounds less powerful than the liveset rip I heard a while back... liveset rip seemed so full of energy and bangin, but this sample sounds kinda boring, almost like the Wonky remix... might just be the low quality though, I'll be able to judge better once I get my copy tomorrow

Where did you hear that he found it at home ? Source?

If he did find it again, it must have been after the 25th of August. Since Dimitri de Wit from Tisto's agency replied the following on an e-mail:

Radiohead - Street Spirit (Tiesto Remix) was played. i was just wondering where he got this from and if you had any other information about it. When i last contacted Tiesto, he told me that this remix was never getting a released, and on judge jules's tracklists it says that it is on "Incident". Do you know whether anything has changed about it getting released, or whether there are only going to be a very limited number of copies given to
a-list djs. thanking you in advance. Ian Thomas"

they just replied with this statement

"Really don't know how he got it, a copy of the CD with the mix was stolen last year in Belgium..so this might be the point...

Kind Regards,

From this thread, bottom post.

So... where did you hear he found it ?

Edit: Hence the 15-20 pages long TA thread about the stolen CDR, am I the only one feeling that this is all made up ? If you know what I mean =)

I have... when it's playing through the headphone jack in my mixer it sounds fine, but when I tried ripping a sample to show you, it came out a bit distorted... I think it might just be down to a dodgy lead.

Posted by i-cue on Oct-06-2004 19:37:

street spirit is way overrated i think it sounded cool to me at first but as i gave it another listen it just bores me theres just something missing

Posted by MichaelBoogerd! on Oct-06-2004 19:48:

die another day sounded a bit different to me..

it could just be the fact i finally heard it from the beginning and not mixed in before.

What does a dodgy lead mean? As in dodgy production wise?

Posted by Spang on Oct-07-2004 11:13:

I think he's talking about the lead/cable from the mixer to the computer in order to rip a sample. Nothing to do with production i think.

Gonna check that out, very hard to avoid noticing it on the "promo".

Got mine yesterday, time for a decent review... concentrating on the Street Spirit remix here because that's the reason I bought it.

I don't know what it is, but something seems to be missing compared to the old radio rip, I can't understand why. Can't place it, all the good elements are there, but it just lacks that bit of energy that would make it an amazing track, the element that grabs the listener's attention and makes you wanna nod your head or dance, it just seems absent. Yes I have that problem when I produce, but this is Tiesto here, he's made plenty of great tunes. And the sound quality/mastering is a bit... eh. Could be better, but this is a white label so I'm not gonna complain too much.

And yes, it does start to sound a bit distorted near the end, mostly at the bits where the bassline goes up to E, I hear the kick drum clip a bit and the bass too, it could even be dodgy production/EQing but like I said this is Tiesto, I know he's a good producer so stuff like that shouldn't really happen.

Overall I'm a bit disappointed, I loved the radiorip, and even though this is essentially the same tune it just sounds a bit bare and lacks energy somehow.

The atmosphere of the club and the crowd add to a lot of tracks that you hear in broadcasted sets.
