I like this track a lot!
Firstly, thanks to everyone who has given me incredible feedback on my tune!
I've been working hard on the mix for the last month or so, taking into account everthing you guys have said. May I say, all extremely good points! I completely agree with everything you guys have said.
So I've now updated the link in the original post, with changes:
- main melody synth has now been completely tweaked, with much more presence and mid frequencies
- breakdown completely reworked, should have a lot more energy
- ugly clashing high-hats have been removed
Thanks heaps for all the feedback, it has really been invaluable! If there is any more feedback for this particular mix, i'd love to hear it!
very nice, big improvement.
What software do use?
cheers
the intro of the song, all the elements line up very nicely
i'm a big fan of the those acid-type synths, good work on those... the lead had me a little confused but it was good, it's not predictable and epic (perhaps a little too epic for my tastes near the end of that lead melody, but whatever works)
please tell me you're getting this signed, and looking forward to hearing more from you
Wow man
congrats on this one, this is your best work yet, MAJOR improvement!!! Replied your PM, and yes this is surely getting airplayed on my show
. Keep up the good work here man
Brilliant, nothing to change or add, finest quality nostalgiac 99 style trance.
Thanks a lot guys! Glad you like the updated version
ichiro - i use cubase and vsts etc.
supertrantastic fuckin cool tune from an aussie who's doin us all proud. keep it up mr 'mo
.
mate i can't get over how proffesional this is.
In all my years of listening to no0bs tunes, i am just absolutley shocked by this!!
If you don't get this signed it will amaze me.
You should send it to Armada, it sounds like that label
top quality! has it all!! congrats!
nice beat and bass. very good synths that come in after, well done. it has a nice epic touch to it in that fast chord synth and the acidline. great sound quality !!! great break too. melody is nothing surprising for me, could be better imo
great job indeed! gg
very good melody, has potential to made into a big trance tune with the right production

this just popped up in winamp, my bad for not replying.
quality stuff, melody is excellent. production quality is good but not spot on, there seems to be a fair bit of clipping + distortion. with a bit of tweaking this could be amazing
Yeah okay....I'll bite again.
I also have it in my collection already, and I know I already reviewed on the first page but this is a great song.
You are the melody-master!
KEEP UP PHO!
wow... i want to slap myself for not having downloaded this earlier...
this is definately a massive tunage.
Compared to most other "epic trancers" i hear from this forum, this one just has so much melody and passion into it... i would go nuts if i heard this...
you have put a lot of thought and work in the melody and it definately stands out from the crowd.
the 128 kbs is kinda hard to judge the quality, mixing and mastering... but from what i can tell, it still needs a bit more work...
absolutely fantastic

Amazing work! Love this tune to death.
Someone mentioned that the melody is weak -- I don't think this is the case at all. Very powerful, very moving, very emotional.
I think the end could be a bit better - that synth at the end seems to stop rather abruptly and there's not much after it. Might be better suited to have it keep the same note in the last 30 secs or so (much like in the first 55 secs of the track), as it may not be too easy to mix out of it into something else with a different (compatible) key. I'd also keep in a good phrase of percussion after that synth dies down for mixing sake as well. Some might argue a phrase of those percs might be boring, but you've got some nice FX in there that you could scatter about. Given the quality of this production I'm sure you'd have no problem making such a phrase interesting.
Again, amazing work, would love to play this in a set. This should definitely get signed!
holly shit this song roxx my socks out
NICE! I see no reason why this wouldn't be signed. Unless it's the quality of the mp3 messing with the overall cleaness, i would have this mastered, copyrighted, and sent everywhere! I really think Armada or maybe Fundamental would sign this
tight song!!!!
I was amazed of the quality of this song and melody and beat went together right on time props man.
mm after listening to this again
i love it
u really gotta get this signed man, its an anthem! its not just ur average trance tune, this could be huuuuuuuuuge
EDIT: WTF!!!!!!!!!!
the most retarted thing EVER just happened!!!!!!
right when i was done listening to this, Black dRagon ILTA msged me on msn, sent me his remix of this, the SECOND after i listened to this, LIKE WTF!!!!!! thats some wierd shit right there hhaha
This song is awesome! You are very talented.
Apologies for dragging out this ol' thread, but i'm really happy to say that chiba is due for vinyl release! indications are that it will be coming out in March on Trance Tribe Recordings.
Thanks heaps to everyone who reviewed my tune and helped me finish it off! Cheers guys! It wouldn't have been as good a song without your help
Also I'm stoked to say that this tune won the Australian trance production competition, read about it here

nice.. congrats, man
track is pretty good.. it's nice to hear the original after hearing many verions of the Johnson and Corbett remix
I like the sounds in the intro.. especially the acid 303..
I was never much of a fan of the melody... example
from 4:30-4:39 it just sounds funny.. amateur-ish even.. (meaning it's in key, but the tonal progression at that point doesn't sound good IMO)
the track is nice and loud.. interesting how that is so much more important these days..
kick is nice and prodominant.. the upper range has been limited too much though.. almost to the point where everything (melody and hats) distort together to form a mesh of sound (hard to distinguish between things)
all in all.. it's the best unsigned/amateur production i've heard to date on TA.. but, unfortunatly, that isn't saying much.. it must still kneel and kiss the feet of many of todays great tracks.. both melodically and in terms of production quality..
Edit: I very rarely add a TA track to my playlist. This is no exception *deletes it from his hard drive*
Congrats mate
I couldnt find anything wrong with this track
