well - what can i say? it was a GREAT night of music - it wasn't quite as tribally as i've heard in the past - but i still danced most of the night. every time i see him i think i'm going to be disappointed, but it has never happened! lawler confirmed why he is my favorite dj

however - the cheese factor last night was HUGE!!!! too many cheesy guys trying to dance with me - what a girl won't put up with to see her favorite dj.

funny story of the night: one of my girlfriend's was getting hit on by this guy and she was trying to tell the guy to get away and he wouldn't go away. so one of our male friends stepped in and the guy that was hitting on my girlfriend turned to the wall, whipped out his package and pissed against the wall!! it was so gross....and he was promptly escorted out.

nice seeing some ta's at the end of the night - i guess i was on the other side of the pole

I have to agree with ctprincess; last night was an amazing night of music! First time seeing Lawler for me. I only have three recently live sets of Lawler and they're great, but I was more impressed with his music selection last night. His set appeared to be 'fuller' with faster and heavier basslines and rhythms while the three sets (I have) were calmer and deeper and repressed. Lawler was definitely a unique treat to see live.

And, what the hell was up with the crowd? People were being so arrogant and stupid. ctprincess: I like the 'guying pissing on the wall' story, but I had a similar experience too. My buddies and I were chilling next to the bar by the VIP booths in the main room, and this guy just walked right up to our little group. We glanced at him like 'who the hell are you' and he just stared right back at us, turned, and purposefully walked right into the glass staircase to the VIP; and then, left. It must have hurt like hell, because he hit his head so hard on the glass we practically heard it over the music. People were lame last night. I know that's pretty arrogant for me to say, but if the crowd ain't right then they kind of take a little bit away from the overall experience. I haven't seen a crowd like that in a long time at Sound-bar. Also, I was on the dance floor, dancing a bit and listening to Lawler, and I think I saw the same guys walk by me a hundred times! You know, stay in one fuckin' place. Too many guys and not enough girls! But, the music was excellent.

Lawler was insane!!! It was definitely an unbelievable night!!! Thanks to a couple of TA's for even getting me into him. I was an amateur! Now I'm hooked!!!

Be Cool!

Blahhhh! Disappointed I missed this, but still trying to recover from Halloween party injuries. Did he play his version of Sand in My Shoes? Hope all of you who went had fun, though I can already picture what the crowd was like based on the previously mentioned descriptions. Hopefully there were no old Elvis Costello +100 pound-looking guys dancing with escorts and bumping into everyone like when Matt Darey was at Soundbar.

ill repost...

My gf and I had a great time. Her first 'real' clubbing experience I would say. So it was a good time. Steve was on as usual. He didnt seem to let up the entire night.

One track I need the id of is one that he played near the end. It had the female vocals saying 'dont stop' over and over. Anyone?

Otherwise theres a few things up on my site here

Thanks! I'm so glad I was able to catch him here since I heard it's been like a year and a half. I've been listening to him ever since the show! Well, him and Sander actually.

Story of my life--guy trying to lure me out of the bar, me saying "no, damnit, I'm here til the DJ finishes!!!"

The story about your girlfriend is priceless.
