When negotiating for somthing, I always concede something so that the other person concedes something too, even though they never would have conceded anything to begin with. Its a reflexive behavior that you can take advantage of.

you'd have to give me more specific examples...like give me a situation and the person and then ask me how i would get my way, then i can answer better.

I usually get my way in different ways.

1) Use leverage that I have to get my way.
2) Offer something in exchange for what I want.
3) Talk the other person into it.
