Some people honestly dont know how to interact with people though hehe. Ive known people (I was once one as well) whod be attracted, get into a conversation, and would have no clue how to talk to them. Cant talk to them like you can your drunk guy friends. Cant push em or be rough...wtf do you do with these cute little things?

So I can understand on a level where shes coming from as far as ideas of what guys are interested in. She, knowing that shes attractive to most, shouldnt have any problems applying the ideas.

I think it's hot when a girl tries to pick up the guy...

I agree wtih this 100%.

From my point of view, it's better to have the chick alone and vice versa, because the guy could feel like you brought your friends to "evaluate" him, etc.

That adds pressure on him, but honestly most guys would be flattered to have a hot chick try to pick them up.

You'll be fine.

That's too forceful imo if you just met the person, but hey maybe it's a German thing.

Then as a female you're already 95% of the way there. Girls don't need to "woo" guys with smooth talk like guys do with girls so don't worry about saying the right things. Just hold down a semi-normal conversation and - given that he'll understand your keen by the simple fact that you've approached him in such a way - you're there. We guys are incredibly simple creatures, so don't worry about it too much. We're easier than you think.

Indeed.

And if he wants to go shop for candles at Bed Bath and Beyond, run away.

Dear lord, at work its quite the opposite, mainly chicks I work with, and it was the same in my old job, not bragging, I'm just a messed up laid back guy, and I think my accent has something to do with it.

But as for chicks picking up, just start a good conversation, THAT YOU CAN HOLD (got the amount of times they can't keep a conversation and its like your talking to yourself), and then drop little hints now and then if he doesn't realise your interested at first, not sure but I think most guys are kinda clueless, I am for sure, but only with these crazy canuck chicks, they make me like this guy >

Apparently.

Where's the one guy in 10,000 who's said no to that and what the fuck is wrong with him?

he was attached

in my vocabulary picking up is having a smooch and getting a phone number

hooking up is getting sex

Thats a pretty weak insult actually.

The majority of people don't offer any sort of reasonable advice and act like 12 year olds and someone is actually constructive and you insult them, well, aren't you just the forum tough guy.

He doesn't have to justify himself to you.

I have had girls come up to me asking for a light when they know damn well I don't smoke. That is a good line for girls though. It gives me a chance to say "nasty habit".

Spyder, if you want to pick up guys, just do it. I am usually pretty shy, but when a girl approaches me, then it helps out. Guys are probably as intimidated by you as you are of them (except for the cheesedicks who hit on anything). Break the ice and you're in the clear. Initiating the conversation is the hardest part.

I think Tobias' 8 rules should be a pretty good guide -- I agree with all of them

be careful though, this girl im drooling over loves to do that to me. i found it cute the first time, because i was drunk and numb, but yesterday she did it again, and i noticed she can hit harder than most guys in my class effortlessly. she looks so cute doing it, until my forearm turns red... haha

yea, and that can get annoying pretty quick -- don't be "that girl"

Posted by Orbax on Oct-29-2004 04:57:

lol i mean light and playful. Love taps. I hate it when chicks actually punch you. They always find the elbow joint or the space between tricep and bicep...no idea where it hurts you

Rasta

Yeah im a pretty shy guy, i dont even know how i end up with the girls that i do........(i think it has to do with my mind control machine)

regardless of which- picking up guys isn't hard business for zee ladies. All of the pressure is put on the man.........oh hellz, lets act all macho, lets show her what im made of, or.......my penis is 3 inches longer than you think it is, babAY!

either way, it all comes down to the man hitting on you.

So make yourself more approachable, maybe?

and most definitely!

Learn that eye contact is a key element in communicating interest in the opposite sex!!!!

Trust Mr. Pink, he is the man to go to if you wanna learn how to pick up guys.

Hey Pink, I learned a geeky Puerto Rican joke the other day, it goes like this...

Why are there no Puerto Rican's in Star Trek?

'Cause they dont work now, why would they work in the future!

stopping it with a shovel.

as someone already pointed out...make sure you don't go out with a gang of 150 girls or so, it just won't work. go with a few friends, preferably just one. don't try to make it difficult when the guy comes up and starts talking to you, don't try to give the impression that you're "hard to get" when in fact you really wanna go home with him. and if you really really want the guy, you shouldn't give a fuck what your friend/friends think abt him...this is the most important point. i've heard from many women that the only reason they didn't go home with some dude they wanted was that their "friend" was totally dragging them away from the guy or some such shit...don't let your friends decide your night for you!

Posted by StereoPrincess on Oct-29-2004 11:17:

where do you usually see this guy?

that makes all the difference on which sort of advice you should get.
