hmm
no because it diminishes the likely hood of compilation signings and being picked up by a major if its floating around on random downloadable sets on the net...the nothing less nothing more argument could not be farther from the truth
...trust me i have studied this.
again once a track is release i have no problem with it being passed around as music is to be loved and heard. ripping from an armin van buuren or markus schulz live set for your own is lame. of course i accept its going to happen (no im not going to stop producing) but i have as much right to complain about it happening as anything since i put the original work into putting this project together. if im a step away from a major dj putting it on a comp and he hears its on a bunch of random sets on TA, it may well diminish the chance that it goes on that comp (more undercover material would become more appealing) - let me worry about how my tracks are promoted, don't decide for me how my work is best dealt with please.
ok enough - i got more records to make, but maybe i won't give them to guys with radio shows as they will be ripped and used under the guise of "its a set nothing more nothing less", then we all lose out.

thats the ticket. I have some mixes myself from a while back when I was first introduced to MM but I wasnt so bold as to post them on here because some people can give contructive critisism but some people just come at you unrespectfully and I would rather avoid that situation altogether. Maybe one day I will
Ehh, Ive made alot of mixes, but those are the only ones Ive posted simply because of the genre. I didnt do it to promote myself, I did it just so people would have something to listen to in their cars if they had that urge for some house music.

kisses to everyone...i think you took my post a little too seriously
i did say "maybe"..it was more of an example of what can happen. i know a few people who due to rips have become almost recluses about their music which sucks because again its meant to be heard.
no need to "lose respect" from a post, that i would say is a little wishy washy and doesn't seem like you were much of a fan to begin with. i think you guys need to understand how attached i am to the music i make. i send out loads of mix cd's for free (i pay shipping and costs) and happily pass my music around as much as possible (after its released) to anyone who has shown interest.
this is the last time im going to say this, set rips affect the chance of a major signing to a label or compilation - this diminishes the chance of further promoting the record to thousands more people. so when you think you are promoting a song by ripping it (or arguing that "hes just promoting it for you") think about how it works behind the scenes.
