making alittle bump on this thread.... so how many rooms do we hav at the party palace now??

i think everyone who has a room should PM me with first and last name of the room reservation, and the dates that you are staying, so I can start requesting that we all be on the same floor....

for those of you unable to reserve a room the traditional way, you need to talk to anyone that has booked a room already, so we can tell you the sneaky, and cheap way to do it....
we tried to recruit some TOTAs to come this weekend... i guess well see...

just a little over 4 months to go!!!

I believe that the number of TA rooms now stands at 10 confirmed rooms. No telling how many have gotten friends to book here also.

This place has no idea whats coming.

Staying at the Starlite Hotel. Checked out last year, not that bad. Gotta a pretty decent deal with a friend of mine so we're good to go .

Gotta set up the bed sheet down the middle of the room though . Na but seriously it's just a place to shower and crash...on the beach . WMC is about staying out and listening to good tunes, that's what I plan on doing.

Anyone staying here also going to the Conference? I'm probably gonna book a room here tonight, but it's about 10 miles away and I'm wondering if I shouldn't get something a bit closer. Taxi prices would probably add up quick, and getting the car out and fighting for parking all week would be a bitch. Anyone know how good the buses are from here to Miami Beach?

It's 5 minutes from space. Just across the bay from everything else. Without traffic it's a $20 cab ride to anything on SOBE. Besides, I'm sure that i'm not the only TA with a car at the hotel.

You have to get off the island if you want to party past 4 or 5 AM anyway. All my nights/days? end at space on the terrace. Downtown hotels not only give you wayyyyyyy more bang for your buck, but they help you avoid a long, nasty, strung out cab ride back to SOBE at 11AM.

BitchboyNYC, my best friend, and myself are booking on friday. We have a room at the Fairwinds but this just makes more sense. Plus ill have my car so driving from the city to SOBE will not be such a hastle.

yeea... are you sure you arent looking at the sheraton balharbour? that one is supposed to be far from everything...

I'm talking about the actual Conference (it's in Miami Beach... 10 miles according to map quest), which I already have a registration for and plan to attend. Maybe not all 5 days (depends on exactly when they do the topics/seminars I particularly want to see), but I'd imagine for at least 3... $20 bucks on a taxi both ways is already $120 just for getting to the Conference and back, and I'm barely scraping by as it is. I just gotta cut as many corners as I can here, that's all.

And Space is always 21+ isn't it? So I guess I'd have to get a pretty good fake...

well, are you goin to miami to party? or to hang out with a bunch of no-name crappy DJs all week. if you are goin to party, stay downtown. but please not at my hotel, you aparently are a cockbag who wouldnt know a good party if it was sitting on his face.

I'm going for both! But partying takes priority, so chill. I just happen to be very interested in a few of the subjects they're covering. I'll probably just be passed out and sleep through the whole thing anyways, heh.
