I think we all do. At least those of us who are not hypocrites

Was just looking at some of my first posts, LOL.

I was so excited about those tunes that I posted twice

Look at about 10 posts down on this one:

I had better taste than Clovis back then

And apparently I really was a double poster back then...

And look at me giving out "expert reviews"

Looking at old threads in TA is awesome

Five Finger Death Punch - White Knuckles

Notorious BIG - Juicy reminds me about my life a lot. Probably the most.
way back when i had the red and black lumberjack, with a hat to match.
the opposite of a winner, remember when I used to eat sardines for dinner
Super Nintendo Sega Genesis. When I was dead broke I couldn't picture this.
Celebrating everyday, no more public housing. Thinking back to my 1 room shack.
We used to fuss when the landlord dissed us. No heat. Wonder why Christmas missed us. Birthdays was the worst days, now we sip champagne when we thirstay!
Cus i went from negative to positive.
And if you don't know, now ya know, nigga!

As for instances in life:
The first song I ever played in a DJ set (which was when I was 16 at a Church! OH YEAH): Transa - Enervate. Nobody knew what the fuck that was, and nobody liked it. Had to do 20 encores of Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone. I was playing it a few weeks ago nonstop and couldn't forget that night. It was crazy. Jesus was off his cross.

+1

It reminds me of a long debate I had with a friend over whether the vocals were actually sung by a chick or were synths that sounded like a chick singing

not sure why, but i associate my memories with albums.

Juno Reactor's Beyond The Infinite reminds me of my early days getting into electronic music. i'm still surprised that i got introduced by a relatively unknown (but damn good) music group, which then led me to listening to the overhyped+overexposed stuff like Tiesto & Oakenfold

any song from Paul van Dyk's album In Between brings me back to summer before my senior year of high school. i get this with L.A. Woman by the Doors as well.

Tiesto's In Search of Sunrise 5 & 6 remind me of partying with my friends at UCSB. i have so many stories from that place...

In Search of Sunrise 7: Asia reminds me of my girlfriend.

BT's Ima makes me think about my future for some reason. i always picture my life during my 20's... i don't know why.

Paul Oakenfold's Live Essential Mix @ Gatecrasher, Lotherton Hall reminds me of getting belligerent & going nuts to the music

I heard that played at my first massive. I think it's the very first song I ever ID'ed at a party. Beautiful trance tune.

Paul van Dyk-Another Way. The first of a handful of trance tracks I had gotten when I didn't know anything about EDM. Remembered it taking me places in my head and knew I needed more like it.

Keo-Close Enough (Noel Sanger Remix) First heard this while I was going through a depressed time in my life. It caught the moment so perfectly that I find myself playing it again when times get bad.

Dogzilla-Without You Always reminds me of this girl I used to date who had such a mad crush on this song. I bought her the vinyl on Christmas. Now I wish I had kept it for myself.

Basement Jaxx-Red Alert The first track that got me into all of this shit, before I knew the differences between trance and house. Heard it played on a Coca-Cola commercial. Would take me another 4 years before IDing this tune.

Ferry Corsten-Punk. Spun by the maestro himself at Love Parade After Party 2005. I still get chills thinking about an auditorium packed with ravers and club heads all getting the fuck down to this. Was one of the best nights of my life.

Shanti vs Jimbo-What Vibrations Some obscure chill-out track I found while I was still working at an encoding center. I still remember the blinds being half-way closed, setting sun spreading shadows throughout my terminal, and me just typing away as I grooved to this track. Those were the good ol' days.
