Well I guess that's going to depend heavily on exactly what you do in those critical few hours, now doesn't it? ;-)

Sorry but I think the Toronto show will be better than the Montreal show. He ends the week in Toronto @ the Docks with a 6 hour set and the bar closes @ 8:00 am. It's too bad Montreal couldn't get the O because I would have made the trip. Watching the "Tiesto in Concert" DVD wants me to experience a "stadium show" so hopefully he'll be back soon enough.

trust me, it would have been worst in the Big-O....
CEPSUM is gonna be great....

It only really affects students who have exams on saturday. Since the show is only until 3am, they can still go out and then study all weekend, I don't see the problem! People that will miss Tiesto to study on a Friday are total nerds anyway

I like the idea.. if i was here I would go

exactly, just study a bit in advance so you can actually take a little break in your studying and Deejiuana I just saw in the other thread that your exam is on saturday morning.. that's horrible

Posted by RnakR on Nov-12-2004 16:20:

mine is sunday 12 morning

Posted by Falcon-X on Nov-12-2004 16:32:

I usually always have exams on sundays but not this time, only monday the 13th and then I've got a break until the 18th and then 5 straight days of exams.

hmmm hmmm hmmm, got my tix at 45$ (Thanx Louis) and boy ohhh-boyy is this going to be a great shoW! I went to the Lab4 concerts a way back wich finished at 3-AM. It's just perfect. Those who work or need to study have plenty of time. And those who want to continue afterwards have either afterhours or any comfy apartment to keep the party going. I got nothing to complain.

Mark Oliver, hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, exploded onto the Toronto club scene in the late 1980's and played a pivotal role in the development of the electronic music scene with his residencies at such legendary clubs as Krush, Tazmanian Ballroom, Cameron House and GoGo.

He also pioneered the Canadian "rave" movement by being the first DJ to play acid house and techno nights, as well as founding Exodus - North America's first-ever rave organization. Mark has played virtually every club and major event in Toronto where he can currently be found Fridays at Meow and at his wildly popular Saturday night 9-hour set at The Guvernment, Canada's largest club.

Despite his busy schedule, Mark has managed to travel abroad on occasion, and play alongside the likes of Sasha, Danny Tenaglia, Paul Oakenfold, John Digweed, Laurent Garnier, Tall Paul, Nick Warren, Seb Fontaine, Judge Jules, Derrick Carter, Timo Maas, Masters at Work, Daft Punk, Jamiroquai, Underworld, The Chemical Brothers, and Moby.

He has also played a host of private parties for celebrities such as Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Prince, and Lenny Kravitz.

With at least four regular gigs per week, plus radio and television appearances, Mark Oliver is considered by many to be the most versatile DJ in Canada, and is currently displaying his talent in the production field with remixes, original material, and a series of mixed compilations.

Mostly house music

Pretty sure it's just $10 to get in.

I saw Mark Oliver open for PVD and he played a pretty good selection of tracks. Started with some banging prog house and moved up to some full blown trance. He had a few sketch mixes but overall it was a good set that I enjoyed.

I always found the scene and vibe in Montreal way, way, way better than Toronto or Vancouver (my hometown). I always felt it was the crowd, the people knew how to party and they weren't push stand around fucks. Unfortunately I find alcohol makes the crowd different and generally pushier and more aggressive. I hate it when people come just because it's some big name they heard on TV and totally ruin the vibe.

That's my two cents, I'm also not a "junkie" that goes partying and sits around being all high staring at pretty lights.

Posted by Kendo on Nov-12-2004 23:51:

"I've always been in favor of alcohol available at parties to attract more girls, older people and less junkies."

Does alcohol really do all that? Stereo has an older crowd than all the afterhours and I don't see problems with girls at all @ Circus.

To be honest had I known Mark Oliver was going I probably would have still gone since Aria would be good after the party, it's too late for me now though.

Posted by malek on Nov-13-2004 03:46:

Stereo has stereobar and Circus is on a roll that may not last.

Sona had a bar too Do you remember when it was packed at midnight?

I'm not saying everyone at afterhours are junkies, but there's many many of them and it discourages alot of people who would love to attend EDM parties but don't want to be associated with the drugs and the crowd found inside.
