Sundance @ Simons... Carl Cox, Dieselboy, and Sandra Collins (the 2nd of her 3 legendary no-shows) i think '99. Fucking awesome, than i went to Krieger's wharehouse for the afterparty where dieselboy was spinning! Having never heard DNB before & getting fucked up for the first time, let's just say quite the experience!

BTW, the promoters @ 238 keep asking me if we should bring back Acosta to Gainesville, do you think it would work???

we all know that acosta sucks but the last 3 times he came to gville i went cause it is here and still better than normal...so i would say sure why not...

oh and my first edm exp was Ultra 1 on miami beach...absolute sickness Hybrid, ltj bukem, and rabbit blowing the main stage...

Liquified used to throw down some sick partys man. I think it was 2001 or 2002.....Sasha & Digweed and Rabbit in the Moon played at the same venue. I was living in Florida at the time....spent a week in Panama City with two friends from back up here and then we drove up to Atlanta for the party. Was my first time seeing Sasha and Diggers and it was figgggggin INSANE!!! I-85 was backed up for at least a mile just from people going to the party!!

Dj Icey and Baby Anne at the House of Blues about a year or two ago...

Went to voodoofest this year

Fuckin owned. Icey might not get a lot of respect on these boards, but the guy is amazing on the decks, he dropped all kinds of stuff from BT to Blue Oyster Cult.

I was going to say my first show was Ultra 2002 but then I saw Hope's post and remembered that we saw Kimball Collins and Baby Anne at the Tabernacle in Atlanta Oct 2001. Ultra was a little more memoriable...to say the least!!

I have to agree they used to throw some sick raves (I have to call them raves since there are about 9,000 ppl in a convention center/warehouse and most of them are f**ked up) but they can't throw parties like that anymore

Ever go to those old school partys @ Bedlams in P-cola??? Back in 2000 - 2002 Had alot of good times there!!! Spacemen/Micro/Aphorodite......

ultra 2 on the beach. they had the little trance tent that was the last one. talla threw a crazy set, then john kelley spun some tight shit. van dyk was supposed to spin but i think he had a problem with his vinyls. hybrid was crazy on the main stage. right as the sunw as setting, they were blowing up the main stage.

do you remember seeing a dj with a blue paw print on the back of his head. who was he? me and my friends who went did not know anything about music when we were at that show.

What Was Your Very First "major" Edm Event?

I can remember going to an old Tampa club that used to be in downtown called Hammerjacks around the end 1994/beginning of 95. Tony Faline and Huda Hudia used to spin late nights there. Also, back then I would go to Masquerade in Ybor. The residents were DJ Monk and Huda Hudia. Huda Hudia is known for being a breakbeat dj, but back then he used to spin some really good progressive/trancey sets. There was no curfew in Ybor back then, so my friends and i would usually leave that club when the sun was coming up and head over to another afterhours club called The Parthenon, where Brad Smith was the resident. I think my first major edm event outside of Tampa was back in 96. I went to Orlando to the infamous club the Edge for a rave known as Passion. Im 99% sure Sasha and Digweed were the headliners of that night along with a whole crew of Orlando Djs. Good times...Good times!!!!!

OMFG That fucking party owned me! I remember being offered 70 bucks for my ticket that night for that party! It was insane!!!


Anyways, My First Event was March 20,1999 at the Nike Pavilon. I saw Kazell,Dubtribe Sound System Live and John Digweed. Back than Digweed owned my soul.

I miss Atlanta Warehouse Parties!!!

Mine would have been the ERA Festival in Gainesville in 99 as well as the 55 Degrees parties at the Orlando Ice Plex in 99 and 00. Those were crazy days, I cant believe it's almost '05.

The party at the North Atlanta Trade Center ranks as one of the best times I have ever had at a party. The PVD show in Atlanta 01 was awesome as well. I still remember him dropping Iio-Rapture and 4 Strings-Into the Night, crazy.

Actually, I think the Ultra Music Festival, I dont remember in what year, Was the first ever major EDM festival in miami.

Awesome, I was there too. However, my first was his Dec. set a year earlier, then Ultra 3 (Twilo tent w/Phazon owned my ass, but Sasha never showed (digweed blew the roof off though)). I didn't really know the difference between house/trance/progressive back then. But it's been all downhill from there. Old space ruled major ass, but hopefully I'll see PvD rule new space tonight. I was waiting for you (Dsmalls) to respond because I always forget when I did what. Probably because I assume you're going to remember and you usually do. I remember how much the old space kicked ass that night (PVD Dec 00), glad I made it there before the new commercial one. Ultra 3 was the best ultra I've been to, but I missed the first 2 which were supposed to be cooler.

first show was Ak 1200 & jeffee at barbarella in orlando for their maximum sound drum and bass nights back in 1996
favorite show was a tie between ultra 2000 beach fest specificaly Sasha & digweed,Hybrid and Nick warrens's sets and Sasha & Digweed,sean cusick and jimmy van m @ hard rock live(please bring shows back there again...incredible vibe) in 2002
