man your logic is weird
I mean say even if Egypt or Syria have nuclear nukes, they can't use them against Israel b/c they'll end up killing the "Palestinian land" too...

I am more worried that some Drunk Israeli General on new years would try to nuke Germany to get revenge for the Jewish people or something

Nukes come in many different strengths. You can have a warhead that'll blow up an area as big as Canada's wonderland, or you can have a warhead that can take out a small country. The smaller nukes are what I'm worried about. Tel Aviv could be wiped off the face of the earth and you think Israel will stand back and watch that happen? They will retaliate with even more strength. The world WILL intervene considering the nuclear nature of the war, and we'll have World War 3. The possibility of this happening is SCARY.

What I'm saying is: they have no qualms about killing their own in order to drive the Zionist beast into the sea. Consider the killings of Muslims in Iraq.

More like a drunk Russian. If there is a nuclear holocaust, most likely it would be caused by a renegade Russian general. Remember, Russia still has more nukes than anyone, including the U.S.

true, but I think even the smaller ones would cause harm to both sides, like say polluting the air or the water etc..

Palestinians are forced into being treated as second class citizens, limiting their right to a sovereign state. Some people question Israel's right to their own state, considering they were and still are a minority , yet took total control of the land, denying Palestine of any governmental representation. This ultimately showed that the formation of a nation is dictated by the all mighty $ rather than human lives and numbers. Democracy? Palestine is simply weak against Israel and are sick of being pushed around. Not to condone suicide bombings but it's the only weapon they have, when Israel leaves them with nothing. Suicide bombing has been effective in the past. A suicide bomber triggered the all out guerilla warface that forced Israel out of Lebanon. A suicide bomber drove the US marines out of Beirut. With this kind of history, the Palestinians believe that persistance will pay off making it difficult to find a peaceful solution.

Turn the tables around. If Israeli's were in the shoes of the palestinians right now and vice versa, desperate measures such as suicide bombing and terrorism would occur. Hell, Israel is guilty of it in the past when they were being denied their own land (King David Hotel). It's not a MUSLIM thing at all that they choose this method of retaliation, it's their will to their own land. The Japanese did it in WW2. Their faith right now is the only thing holding them together, and unfortunately, some extremists are taking advantage of that.

It's gotten so complicated that it's created groups of people, including the Israeli's, that are willing to detonate a nuke. And the power that these groups have is becoming very unsettling. Either side is willing to fight to the death.

As if the palestinians truly have clean water to begin with. I wouldn't be surprised if Israel places it's dumps in and around muslim areas rather than hauling it out into the desert. Both sides simply have no respect for eachother.

Also, fresh water is very scarce in Isreal. They are even seeking to import water from Canada.

Who's to say that some countries deserve nuclear weapons and some don't? Our terrorist is their liberator. I say give everyone a nuke. That will keep things balanced. MAD.

Posted by Magnetonium on Jan-07-2005 01:54:

I guarantee you that there will be no World War 3, and for that I will have the baccing of prophecies by any well-known future tellers.

However, there WILL be upcoming global events of hunger, wide-spread disease and millions of deaths as a result of that, pollution, overpopulation, terrible natural disasters like the one in South Asia (may the victims of that awful disaster rest in peace), global economy collapse, etc.

There will become a time when most cities will be deserted, nearly empty, and the smell of death will fill the air ...

The future weapons of war will be more effective and more lethal and direct than the ones we have today. There will be no need for nuclear weapons, and they will become obsolete as they will be compared to using a bazooka to kill a fly. For example, there will be a weapon that uses a sort of a powerful magnetic-like wave that will shatter the internal organs of the victim, including the nervous system. There will be no bullets, no mines, no nukes, the weapons will be more effective, direct, and lethal. Some of these weapons will be able to "terminate" the target miles away directly and quietly. The damage and brutality will be easily conceived and hidden.

Look at the technology now, and calculate where it is going, and you can only think IN HORROR how worse the weapons will get.
Bla bla bla ...

As for countries that have or are very close to having nuclear technology AND capability (to make nuclear weapons), here's my list (I dont think I missed anything):

China
Egypt
India
Iran
Israel
France
Kazakhstan
Pakistan
Russia
Ukraine
United Kingdom
USA

LOL ... I agree with the previous statements. I know what you are saying, hardcore, but it would've been more appropriate to add captions to the pictures so that people who dont understand whats going on will.

The pictures dont really show or illustrate the real brutality and problems with the Israeli "oppressive" army.

There are worse armies around the world which kill people for no partilucar reason - I agree, this is a pointless discussion - Israelis are quite moderate. They raid/bomb in response of militants attacks or to weed out alleged militants. Russian armies in Chechnya, for example would root out whole villages to eliminate alleged terrorists. Thats just one example. I think Israeils, pressured by constant presence of observers, media and independence movement members from other countries are doing a fine job. Not a great, but better when compared to many other lawless parts of the world.

K, now you're really talking out of your ass...

It been proven time and time again that Russia's number of nukes were waaay over inflated.
Hell there's even a book on how the Russian military, during their Red Square marches, would circle the block to make it look like they had miles of conventional hardware...

And what are we to consider of the killings of Muslims in Iraq.
There were way more killings of Muslims BY MUSLIMS before Saddam's overthrow...

The Arab countries have been waiting some time now to finally do away with Israel. Nuclear weapons in the hands of those countries, or terrorists in those countries, will mean the end of Israel.

The Homemade Rocket That Could Change the Mideast

A Hamas missile launch reminds Israel of its worst nightmare enemy artillery in the West Bank

By TONY KARON

It may be a bottle rocket by comparison with Saddam's Scuds, but the new Qassam-2 missile developed by Hamas could have a far greater impact. Members of the radical Islamist group in Gaza on Sunday fired two of the home-made rockets into southern Israel and although their warheads exploded harmlessly in an open field, the political shock waves are still being felt throughout Israel. The Israeli Defense Force responded with three heavy air raids over 24 hours on Palestinian security targets in Gaza City, and sent its tanks back into the Palestinian city of Nablus in the West Bank. And that, in turn, prompted a crowd of 300 militant supporters to storm the Palestinian Authority prison in Hebron late Monday, freeing 10 Hamas and Islamic Jihad leaders.

Even with a limited range of only five miles and a payload of 20 pounds of TNT, the Qassam-2 poses a serious strategic threat. The reason? If fired from the West Bank, it's capable of reaching a number of few Israeli towns. Also, response time would be limited: while Israel would have a few minutes worth of warning to deploy defenses for attacks launched from far-off Iraq or Iran, it would take mere seconds for a missile fired from the West Bank to reach Israeli territory. And while the lumbering Scud launchers can be observed from satellites, the fold-up Qassam-2 can be concealed and assembled within minutes.

The addition of this homemade missile to the arsenal of Palestinian militants marks a serious escalation of their strategy to drive Israel out of the West Bank and Gaza by making the cost of remaining there too high. Recent months have seen a sharp increase in suicide bombings, and the Qassam-2 allows militants to strike inside Israel without having to cross heavily policed boundaries. Rocket attacks reminiscent of those used by Hezbollah in its protracted war that eventually forced Israel to withdraw from Lebanon two years ago underline what Israeli commentators have called the "Lebanization" of the conflict.

The rocket attacks leave Israel facing a major dilemma. Hamas won't be deterred by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's vow that any rocket attacks from the West Bank would be "an act of war to which there would be a massive response." According the Hezbollah playbook, such a response would be welcome, since it could increase the suffering of Palestinian civilians and increase support for militant groups.

But the dilemma is Arafat's, too. The Qassam-2 attacks are further confirmation that Hamas has little interest in any cease-fire being pursued by Arafat. The PA announced on Sunday that it had arrested Adnan al-Ghul, the Hamas engineer responsible for the Qassam-2, but that's not enough for Israel, which will continue to hold the PA responsible for the missile threat. An escalation of violence may leave Arafat further isolated by the U.S. and Israel, perhaps putting his prospects of negotiating his way to Palestinian statehood irrevocably beyond his grasp.
