I thought that was a good night: The MEN made an excellent venue and there was plenty of staff about to help things run smoother. Does anyone know what capacity was?

I thought Paul can Dyk, Above & Beyond and Adam sheridam were the highlights; while it went a bit hard later on with Macro V and Fergie for my liking.

does any1 remember wat remix Judge Jules played of Dark side of the Moon? That totally blew me away. i thought that Marco V and Fergie were suppoesed to play at arena 2 rather than 1. They were just to hard for many trancers who came to see PvD and A+B. imo Crasher N/Ice was way better orgonized.

There were loads of ppl who came for teh drugs there rather than music. The cue to the cloakroom was massive, while tehre were only 2 ppl working.
In general it was a good night

i thought pvd was fucking awsome

absolutely relentless pounding beats, and a fair few i'd never heard before!

after him i think Marco V was my fave (*TAINTED LOVE rmx *), and the start of Fergie was awsome (we left soon after to beat the traffic out of the multi -storey, plus were dead on our legs)

a & b, jon o bir and sheridan were great, but i really didnt like Jules.. too many female vox and cheesey-eaque trancers imo. I need to know what "beachball" mix that was tho, fuckin banging

Fergie's first or second tune was a fuckin brilliant tech/electro house style track with a vocal sounded like "WHOOOOO, MA HONEY ROCKET..."

any idea? awsome!

oh, and does anyone know wot tune pvd ended on? ive never heard it b4.

Posted by farooqy on Apr-10-2005 14:23:

I came home and listened to Godzilla remix, it does sound like it but i guess Jules made a bootleg of it cuz during a Break it had some nice breakbeat drums stuck in. That was Awsome.

Yeah PvD's last ch00n was good, it had some male vocals right? never heard it before.

i think you might be refering to PvD - The Other Side, he played it 2nd to last, the last tune he played didnt have any vocals in it that i remember

Posted by scAza on Apr-10-2005 21:05:

"the other side" went off, i fucking adore that tune already

yeah the last tune was great, i think its one of the ID tunes on his set at the DMAs @ Hanover that i have

loads of stuff in his set that was amazing and needs IDing

Got to the men arena at about 10:45, saw the queue, nearly cried at the thought of waiting 2 hours on my own (my friends had guestlist). Cue the first of my friends two legendry queue hopping moves of the night... 'Hi, i'm reveiwing the night for IDJ magazine, me and my boyfriend have guestlist, but my friend doesn't, can you let him in with us as i dont want to leave him out here on his own'. Sorted, managed to skip a queue that had at least 750 people in it. Once inside, we were horrified straight away at the amount of chav pikeys that had invaded a great party, they should at least be banned, preferably shot. We walked round the outside of the main arena and came to first stage, strangely placed in the middle of the corridor, bit annoying as you had to fight through the crowd to get past. As we carried on towards the cloakroom we heard Binary Finary - 1998, and A&B - No one on earth. Came to the cloakroom, and the queue stretched what seemed like halfway round the arena. There were two people working at the cloakroom, to deal with about 10,000 clubbers, nice one Gods, you managed to fuck that right up. Anyway, we managed to bribe aomeone near the front to put our jackets in for us, queue jumping mission number two accomplished . Got to the bar, and found that the drinks were quite reasonably priced, 8 for two beers and a bottle of water, shame they stopped serving alcohol a 1AM.

Walked through into the main arena, and I was blown away by the sight that greeted me, a sight only rivalled by what i saw at Love Parade last year. We were in an ice hockey rink (i think), about 100 feet above the dance floor, WOW, what a sight. There were teired seats all around it, which were really good for chilling out on, you could hear the music well enough, but it wasn't so loud that you had to shout to be heard.

A&B were just finishing as we got in, Adam sheridan stepped up, was really looking forward to his set, he played really well when i last saw him at heaven last year. I wasn't dissapointed either, he played some quality tracks, I remember... Reflekt - Need to Feel Loved, Adam Sheridan - Terminal Velocity, Marcos - But For A Day (MvL remix), NU NRG - Dreamland 2005(not sure which remix, but i think it was his own), Adam Sheridan - Crescendo and he finished with Lektrik. Time for Judge Jules, he started off quite well, playing a vocal version of nalin & Kane - Beachball (I think it's called cruisin'), Ernesto vs Bastian - Dark Side of the Moon, Cosmic Gate feat. Jan Johnston - Bilingual Freefall and kuffdam & Plant - Summer Dream(this tune can never be overplayed in my opinion). Time for God to step up, don't really remember much of his set to be honest, the only tunes I remember were PvD - Nothing But You, PvD - For An Angel(MvL Remix) and PvD - The other side, maybe thats because i was too busy chatting to a really attractive girl, Who unfortunately was with her boyfriend . Marco V was next, and played quite hard and techy, which is no bad thing. I remember him playing Sander van Doorn - Bling Bling (SvD remix i think), Marco V - Automanual and I think I heard Mojado - El Toro. We went to check out the Goodgreef arena during his set, and found out that you had to cross the main dance floor to get to it, rather stupid really, they could have just opened up a stairway on the other side of the arena. Anyway, we got there to find that there was a huge queue to get in to the arena, so we didn't bother, didn't really want to listen to hard house anyway. Went home at about 4:15, so didn't get to see Eddie, but never mind

Overall, i had a really good night, think the orginisers of these big events need to sort out the queueing problems though, rather offputting, I feel sorry for the people that had to queue for an hour to get in, and another hour to put their coats away, and another 20 minutes if they wanted to go into the goodgreef arena.

Adam Sheridan

Go Zippy, go zippy, go go go

oooooh the memories

some other tunes that pvd played include, u2 - where the streets have no name (nunrg remix), whiteroom - someday, super8 vs dj tab - first aid. i need to know wot he played last, it was immense!!!!

and i think the tune that eddie kept on playin was phatt - levitation. awesome tune. eddie got the crowd so worked up, was fookin awesome.

and that bootleg of billingual and skydive went down pretty well in my opinion. but nowhere near as good as when above and beyond played no one on earth with madonna - what it feels like for a girl vocals over the top!!, i was nearly in tears! there new tune was mint, cnt remember wot its called though. /me goes and looks.

Posted by Acton on Apr-12-2005 14:58:

oh and another bit of useless info.............

i just found out why above and beyond (well tony and jono) had an earlyier set than planned, its coz the had to jet of to finland right after for paavo's wedding on sunday. aaaaaaw

congrats paavo, but now my life is pointless and i shall end it immediatly

I was actually going to ask if any one know the first song Eddie played, the one with the scratches in it!

Posted by 241403066283 on Apr-13-2005 12:43:

Yeah youre right, but what a shame he was the last one, there was no Energy left in most of the people!
Man when he started Adagio for String I just got reborn and was like start of the night for me! But the damn Organisers had to stop it exactly when the base line came in, and I nearly died! Was going to scream so badly, but thought not! that was my only negative point for the whole night. I really was "Bad" that moment! Waited for that song all night and no1 played it and when it came up as the last song...
Shame!
