If my wanna-be american city you mean a city that has a triving economy, then you're right. Not like in Montreal where buisness are afraid to go because of the goverment are facists and make them speak french. Honnestly if it wasn't for the PQ, Montreal still would of been an AMAZING city, just like it was in the 1960s. But they dont really care, they would just rather keep the french language alive, and forget about anything else.

As for not being Canadian at all, it figures fastdj that you've never been to Toronto, because there is nothing American about Toronto, it is a very diverse and multicultural city (moreso than Montreal) (you DONT see that in the USA, where its USA white (and black) power evreywhere but they dont give a damn about indians and asians)

Sure Montreal is nice, its very cute to fly into a small crappy airport like Dorval and see French signs evreywhere, and I definatly agree that its a nice place to live (maybe even better than Toronto, I dont know I haven't decided that yet), oh and there's some hot chicks..

Anwyays, no reason to but down Toronto, I suggest you stop sobbing and make a road trip (Toronto TA's constantly make trips to Montreal)

sylphin i've already been to toronto and i know what i'm talking about ...

i agree with fast

even though sylphin never bothers me and i like him in this forum, toronto is sad

walking around downtown at 12:00 feels nothing like montreal...but to think about it..there's about 3 or 4 cities in the world that are centralized and "happening" like montreal. toronto is bleek, boring and anything but nice......if montreal wasnt so nice, cultural and exciting, then why do most celebrities own homes here and visit regularly?

anyways, let's stop talking about this in this thread here

hey i had the same feeling about walking at midnight in toronto downtown , sincerly i didn't feel myself secure like here in montreal

I wouldn't exactly say I feel secure walking the streets of both Toronto and Montreal. Both very scary but that's only because of the size of the cities. But if you say that Toronto wants to be American well Montreal wants to be European. There is no such thing as a Canadian city. This country is way to young to have a personality of its own.
i do think that parties in Montreal are much more "hardcore" than in Toronto. Everyone in Toronto is so paranoid that any minute the police will come and arrest them. The shit I have seen in Montreal never compares to Toronto. But I also think that the people in Toronto are very nice to party with and they have a good vibe. Montreal people think that they are better then everyone else.

Yeah, it's true, at some parties Montreal people will have attitude(which I don't like either), but even then it doesn't affect the magnitude of the party, it will still be crazy. Montrealers know how to party, that's just something that's apparent and obvious if you live here or are just visiting. God bless Montreal and I don't know, I think Montreal is an original city, and yes it may have some European similarities, but at the same time it surely has it's own uniqueness. At least I think it does
I haven't been to T.O. in a long time, so I don't have any opinion on how things are there.
