Compare these 2 Episodes from the first 6 months of the show to the tripe he's putting out today and then you'll see that we're not elitists, we just have standards which used to be met but now are not due to mainly him plugging everything from his label and playing amateur shit each week which is not in anyway comparable to 2-3 years ago in quality, variation nor originality. If having standards makes us elitists then sue me

I caught your post before you deleted it, Mr. Foyle. Just one thing I have to say; unfeeling, pretentious, hands-in-the-air dutch anthem trance, or music with soul?

Some of you just care too much...
Just listen to the music...`

Originally posted by Mike_Foyle but the thing is, to alot of people, hands in the air, full on trance has soul! it affects people like your music affects you! do you not get that?!

Originally posted by Mike_Foyle ok true, but if you have a good melody where effort has been put into the production, then you got feeling, people feel it and are affected by it, the music you listen to isnt the only music that has had effort put into it.

Originally posted by Ory Yeah, if it has a supersaw, it has to be a great production. All those saw waves... wow, must be something!

Originally posted by Mike_Foyle the reason i care so much, is because alot of people would consider some of my older music as "mc prog" or whatever, and say that no effort has been put into it and its made for money and that it has no feeling. But i know whats gone into it, and i havnt just made it for money, and it PISSES me right off that people think that it is, when they have absolutely nothing to base it on other than the fact that it was played on ASOT

Originally posted by Mike_Foyle who said anything about a supersaw? supersaws are popular because that particular sound is very powerful and can be used to rip melodies right through you! Not all ASOT trance is fucking supersaws

Originally posted by Ory Don't worry, I believe you, and I respect that. But too much McProg... well, it's gotten to me.

Originally posted by Ory If it's not a supersaw, it's another stereotype that makes people look down on trance.
quote:
Originally posted by Mike_Foyle another stereotype sure maybe, but like i keep saying, originality isnt the only thing that matters, if a sound is used over and over, its because it serves its purpose well, and although you might not accept this, melodies do play a huge part in the mood of any piece of music, sure its not the only thing that counts, but if you have a good melody (which admittidly is hard to come by these days) and then something powerful like a supersaw to deliver it, then you are going to end up with a piece of music FULL of soul and feeling, which can really touch people.

Originally posted by Ory I haven't heard a good trance melody for quite some time.
