What does this do? |
Well, right now there are conflicting thoughts on this. It sort of goes back and forth, but right now many people are saying it doesnt have any bad effects.
However the plain facts are that it is a chemical, which is in no way found in nature, and so we can say it doesnt belong in our bodies. Various people feel sick after consuming it.
There are also some sources which claim it is a cancer factor, and others that claim it could affect the brain and cause things like Parkinsons.
Heres a few links.

The thing is although many sources are calling it safe, if you go to high end asian restaurants they usually will not use MSG in their kitchen, while the lower end ones will. This is because it is a controversial ingredient, and also most people who are into culinary arts despise the use of it, simply because of what it does (flavour wise, not health)

Mi Goreng Indomie
you can't get better than this ... and you eat it dry .. just cook it, drain the water, and add whatever spices there is available .. very good .. then again, this will also give you a heart attack ..
