Um DJ polls dont indicate shit....
Onion you gotta hear his album.
Can get ya a copy if you like
saw him at ultra two years in a row. he freeking rocked, awsome intense sets. saw him the year before last at opium and he sucked bad. also saw him at a trance/breaks night in miami as well and he realy played lousy.
i heard about this guy a couple of years ago back in 99(around there .. maybe it was 2000). pretty good dj .. i like his unique hard style of play .. not the best imo, but definately a top10 dj in my list, ahead of popular djs like acosta, icey, bad boy bill, and other popular north american djs around here ..
good sound
probaly the biggest trance dj in america.....

He may not have an ASOT radio show or any incredibly famous productions, but this guy can rock a dance floor with a different brand of trance than any other DJ I have seen. I think he's a guy that the lovers of the Epic Trance (armin, pvd, tiesto etc) as well as the lovers of the prog (digweed, sasha, holden etc) can all appreciate, which is kind of rare these days. |
awsome awsome awsome awsome is all i can say

I have never heard the guy play except the set he done at Creamfields to 2000ish people in 2004, he didn't make an impression at all. Myself and a friend had high expectations after the reputation this guy had made for himself in the US but we were let down miserably, and so too were the thousands of others in the tent i feel.
Admittedly, his mixing was spot-on, but thats not what successful djing is all about, we all know that. He didnt drop any tunes that made the crowd take notice, he didnt get the feel of the crowd at all and couldn't relate to them. He didnt once show any emotion while mixing, just standing there flawlessly for an hour or so.
Obviously i aint gonna say the guys shit after seeing him once, but i hope he improved since i last saw him. Maybe it was the 5pm slot he had, maybe he was nervous playing to a British crowd (who were mostly students anyway), who knows, but he didnt make a lasting impression on me

I'm disappointed he's been here several times in Detroit and I haven't been able to make it to his shows.
But I am living vicariously through his mixes that I've downloaded (NOT shared!

I saw CL last year for the first time and was more impressed with his performance than I've ever been with any other DJ I've seen. His mixing skills are impressive and his mixes are extremely powerful and energetic...The trance he plays is a million times better and more exciting than Armin's, Tiesto's or PvD's.
...and yes...a well deserved no.7 spot IMO.
christopher lawrence, the one guy who hasnt seen one interview/noobie recognition and manages to squeeze into the top 10...i guess he must be doing something right in the US that he placed so high in that somewhat unimportant poll...but hats off to him, he showed us that u dont have to be OMG I DIE FIFTY TIMES to be succesful.

i think he's decent but i wouldnt say "god". kinda plays a splice between the underground sound i nthe uk and more popular trance/hard. the only problem in this is he ends up playing a lot of "overground" psy which isnt very interesting and a lot of shit hardhouse. this was shown in his em, half really good tunes mixed between a load of mediocre. his main plus point is that he's pretty much unique in the commercial scene with regards to his style.
CL is coming newcastle next month so i might be interested to go see him; a new face and a new sound, should be good
As for the essential mix squabbles, nic fanciulli and david guetta were the 2 biggest names in house last year, so its understandable radio1 have got them booked. ben watt will be alright, and krafty kuts is the king of breaks so his will definitely be worth a listen
