southern ontario grows some really good weed. So does quebec. I really don't like how everyone's all high and mighty on BC bud when we in fact have weed equal to it. Trust me, BC bud is good, but if you actually bother to look, ontario bud can be just as good.

canada is about: (negative/sensless laws)

closing bars (alcohol sales) after 2am

banning the sales of ciggarettes to anyone under 19, but not doing anything about kids smoking in high school on school property during school hours.

stopping all traffic bcuz the lights of a school bus is flashing and a grade 12 student has to cross the street.

complaining about cars parked on sidewalks, even if the tire is .1cm on the sidewalk.

complaining about loud music

setting speed limits to 40km/h (school areas) 24 hrs (even at 3am when theres no one around.)

getting someone arrested without first investigating, eg. "possession of something illegal, such as guns". <-- i can go to your house and hide a gun in your car. next day a cop pulls you over, inspects your car, and finds the gun and assumes you are responsible until they find the real suspect. if they dont find the suspect, your charged. (happens in other countries too, not just canada)

canada is about: (positive/good things)

health care
hockey
freedom to practice religon/culture etc.

other things, not on my mind right now.

thats all.

Not for me it ain't. I've never gotten too paranoid off BC Bud (which for the record is of course because I've never smoked it).

look, go back and read the post. it says, sales is banned for those under 19, but high school students ("WHO ARE UNDER 19") still smoke. wats the point of banning sales and not doing anything about the kids smoking?????????????????????????????????????????

OK then you are advocating lowering the age? I agree with that. If you are old enough to drive a car, die for your country, and vote then you should be able to smoke and drink. Lower the age to 18!

Posted by malek on Jan-19-2005 06:08:

well obviously because its not illegal to smoke it... yet

well i really dont care if they lower or raise the age, but it doesnt sense if the govt bans sales of ciggareets to those under 19 and not charge them when they are smoking it. they should just get rid of the law and shopkeepers shouldtn demand id. or, they can stop the minors from smoking if they keep the "no sales" law in effect. i hope you get what i mean.

I understand but i think the cops have better things to do with their time and if they dont we need fewer cops.

sorry but that would be outrageous...

would you accept that your kids can go to the local store and buy beer if they're 14???

ITS NOT ILLEGAL to drink beer, but would you let kids go and buy it?

same applies to cigarettes.

well i kind of agree, but remeber, you cant stop kids from everything, otherwise they will try to find their own ways, which is no good.

so is it better to do nothing? and give full access to alcohol and cigarettes? while we're at it, let them go rent xxx movies and get in strip clubs and nightclubs.

I don't think so.

Kids do it anyways. Restricting them makes it even more taboo and makes kids want it even more. I think a sensible approach to kids with smokes and booze is a better way to go. Introduce them to it gradually and teach them responsibilty. As it is now, you reach a magic artifical number and boom you go from allowing nothing to everything. The results are that North Americans abuse alcohol like mad.

I they are drunk or have been drinking then they should be dealt with ONLY if they are committing a crime. Drunkeness itself should not be considered a crime unless you are behind the wheel.
