I got the Creative Zen Touch 20gb, had that since September last year. The hard drive died about 2 months ago, had to send it in. Got it back 2 weeks later, no probs since then. I use my player on average 6 hours a day so I'm a pretty heavy duty user but then again it shouldn't fail like that IMO. And the Zen Touch doesn't have line-in. Other than that it's pretty good.
My boss at work had the H320 (before it got stolen from his car :/ ), worked fine for him. Can't really tell any sound quality difference even through HD-25's. If I was gonna get one now, it'd def be an iRiver.
ipods are attractive little things...
but this baby is going to be mine pretty soon:

Has anyone ever bought mp3 players from Hong Kong?
Any idea about prices? (cheap / expensive)
My parents are stopping in Hong Kong for a few days so i might ask them to get me an mp3 player for my birthday......
looking around at prices for the iriver H320 and the best place is definitely ebay. If I can pick it up for around $400, that would save mea 10 min trip to JB hi-fi parramatta

I think I can also finally rule out the zen touch, with all these cases of HD crashes
lol sid that's ub3r lazy.
how can you beat the buying power of the three of us negotiating with some jb hifi dude
..
AJ - not sure bout HK, but in Singapore it's no cheaper than buying it here. Actually, I found a 40 GB ipod cheaper in sydney airport on my way over. I thought it'd be cheaper in Singapore but i was wrong so i ended up not buying it. gheyed.
if matt.h is lurking he'll be able to comment on HK electronics.

The transmitter accessories for ipod mini etc are typically just connecting to a 3.5mm headphone jack, so yes they will work with most mp3 units.
Erratik i can guarantee you that three of you buying or one of you buying makes no difference. The market is so cut throat and runs on such small margins ( ipod sells at cost!) that the stores make very litle on these anyway and will only have so much room to move.
Avoid ipod if you can. They have the highest return rate in the industry and are not designed to be an audio unit, but rather a standard data hard drive hence lesser audio performance then iriver, creative etc.
Buying from hong kong will be alot cheaper but you will have no warranty in australia and yuor buying a product with a history of problems.
I paid nothing for my iriver ( which arrives today ) but i got a favour from a certain friend!

sid, check ur pm.
lithen to sthcotty.. hes thuch a thilly buns but he knowth hith ipodth
thtop it dathey!!! u making me blush all ruby red!
Thanks for all your help guys! just managed to grab a brand new Iriver H320 for a bargain AUD $350 from ebay (including shipping and warranty). Ebay is definitely the place to grab most players. Refine your search to places that ship to AUS and you will find that they are considerably cheaper than minidisc.com.au and mp3direct.com.au
Iriver rocks!!! I've had my IHP-140 for a year now and am still in love with it....soooo glad I chose it over Ipod, etc....
Sid, u probably found it already but, just in case u didn't, check out www.misticriver.net - really great IRiver forum
