Hmm interesting thread, I actually like it.

I am one of those DJs with a website (unfortunately no 3rd person bio, awwww) but I mainly wanted it for webspace as you can't get shit for free on the net, and after 10 years of being into the the scene and most of that DJing, I thought I might aswell make a site, plus I like to create things, be it music, pictures, furniture, and yes even websites, so I decided to make one, if you don't like it, you can always add me to your ignore list, but like most people have said, you gotta start somewhere, and I like to visit various "small" djs websites and download there mixes, some of these DJs have sets that are very refreshing and great to listen to, and if it wasn't for them, I would be stuck listening to the same stations over and over and also the same DJs mixing very similar tracks.

I'm sorry but mine will be staying, infact its even about to get an upgrade, har

EDIT: oh yea, before anyone else says anything I know I need to get rid of that first screen when you enter the site....WTF was I thinking

The bigger piece of evidence is that more and more people have their own sites these days. YOu can't stop people, whether you want to read the site is another matter but it never bothers me these days because I just don't want to read the amateur dj sites. You could'nt stop the bedroom dj trend anyway if you wanted, so I guess it is here for now.

i'll definetly wait till i have the resources and content to make a USEFUL website :P

Hey man! I remember a set you did on XTC Radio (I beleive) from like ... uhh, I have no clue, probably 2001. It was so good that I ripped two songs. That was when I was supreme nuber and I didn't know any artists besides major dj's.

But yea, this was when I didn't know any producers. I actually had great emotion for it music then, and trance/house was kind of an open realm where anything could go (yet now there have been some unruly yet unspoken requirements on how your song has to sound to be accepted).
It's kind of funny, as i'm typing this, the Echomen tune vocals are saying something about music being a dream, and wake up to something like a nightmare of this world. Too bad I can't understand what he is saying, i'm sure it's real valuable.

After I picked up the hobby of mixing (about 3 months ago), things became more business anf factual to me. Keeping it short without providing examples, things have become very business like to me, and that takes out every drop of feeling for the music I had, it just turned me into an android and I rarely ever get that rush of getting lost in a tune as often as I used to :/ faceless and emotionless ego/name boosting objects to me now, I hope to God I can change it back to what it used to be..


As far as that quote, my Dad said that once. He told me it's not what you know in life, it's who you know. I'll leave it here
