It's not really dancing when it comes to hip hop. It's kinda like clothed upright humping.

+1

if i wanted to hump some chicks ass id stay home for the real deal

not only that, having some chick shake their ass on you while some dude is rapping about his money, cars, jewelry, bitches, neighborhood, or his crunkness doesnt strike me as having a good time

sounds more like torture while being sexually teased

my idea of a good time would be in the middle of a crowd of ppl who are actually doing some kind of footwork or other moves while some guy focuses his energy on spinning music that sounds good

also much fun - spinning glowsticks on strings or fire, goes very well with house, dnb, trance...

only dancing im aware of in the hip-hop realm would be breakdancing and poplocking

Rap is very easy to dance to imo, as the timing is extremely clear and easy to follow.

Trance I have no clue what I'm doing yet, I mean I can rave, but it takes up way too much space at dance clubs(not to mention I'd feel stupid). The pace is just too fast for me. At least I'm not alone as I don't think the majority Americans have any idea how to dance to EDM.

i have the opposite effect.

when i've been drinking me and my mates like nothing more than looking like we're actually enjoying 'lean back' and the like.

Just try slowing your movements down and flowing to the beat. Don't think about it just let the beat carry you across the dance floor. I spin breaks because of my passion for dancing but I also spin underground hip-hop. You've probably just never really danced to alot of hip-hop. I say find some songs you like and start dancing to them. You can't be good at dancing if you've never done it before.

I can dance it's just that I guess I can't really feel hip hop. Just not my bag I guess.

If you don't like the music you would like dancing to it. When it comes down to it dance is just moving in time with the beat. It doesn't really matter the type of music but if you don't feel it you won't put any effort into grooving to the beat.

personally, i cant dance to rap either. One time, though, i was at this party and this one chick calls me over, and she was with two others dancing..... so then i got in the middle and had one chick in front, one in the back, and the other was lingering on the side grinding on my thigh......ummmmm it was interesting but it took no skill points whatsoever cuz i was WASTED and they kept me from falling. It was like the magical p00n pillars of shangrila, holding me up, bringing me to complete bliss

mwahahahah...
There was a TUD last year, I was piss drunk and my friend's then girlfriend sort of had a crush on me. I don't remember anything about that night but next morning I heard that I started grinding with her in front of him and then saliva exchange insued. After that night, they broke up and I started dating her.

Anyways, yeah most of my friends listen to hip-hop, and it's kind of hard to dance to, I don't really dance to hip-hop unless I'm wasted.
